If you are attempting to stream to one streaming platform, but SE.Live is attempting to stream to another, please try the following:

Navigate to StreamElements menu, on top of OBS > Logout > Login

After you have logged back in navigate to File > Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Reconnect

Hi there! Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I've been having issues with SE Live. It interferes with my OBS theme that I prefer. On the SE website it says I can use Ground Control for the custom bot name as an alternative but I'd need to reach out here on the Discord to have that enabled for me. Are you asking about alerts for twitch events? Because those are built in the overlay editor as the getting started guide indicates….you don’t need to build a full overlay if all you’re doing is alert notifications which are also customizable.

All you would need to do is create a blank overlay, add the alert box widget, customize your alerts with your custom notifications/sounds, and then add the overlay to obs

@fathom token When people come here for that kind of information for on stream they usually want to do it with our overlays. That would require you to use our overlay editor or the API to retrieve said information if you use your own method.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Hello, I setup a giveaway and setup my overlay and it does show up in OBS. However, I set and image for the giveaway. I don't see the Running Time, etc. I'm assuming that's because I set an image? I also didn't see a way to change the image once the giveaway has started.

Custom Fonts

Steps:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Click on Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Okay. There's a "duplicate/ghost" account carrying your current channel name alongside your actual one on SE so that has to be nuked before things can be fixed.

Unfortunately this may take a couple or so days to get fixed but it will clear the issue up when it is.

You have some ways to reset the timer:

  • Enabling the option "Shutdown source when not visible" in the browser source you have the timer. Every time you switch scenes, it will disable the scene and enable when you select it again, restarting the timer. Useful if you don't want to keep that overlay loaded in memory unnecessarily.
  • Enabling the option "Refresh browser when scene become active" in the browser source you have the timer. Every time you select that scene, it will restart
  • Just selecting the browser source and clicking on "Refresh" button. It will reload the overlay and restart the timer.

Any of the options will work to reset the timer.

@crude pecan Hello! I'm currently using StreamElements and I'm having some lagging problems with my streams. I've tried to disable the hardware acceleration on the browser, deleting any programs on my PC, play the streams and making sure that I have no other programs opened when I'm streaming and I'm still having lagging issues. Also, my OBS keeps disconnecting during my streams and I don't know why. Is there a way that I can fix this?

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hi unsure if im experiencing a Streamelement bug or is it OBS. I'm trying to use the streamelement Overlay creator thing. You can use preset or create your own. I did one and did my own alert. It does show up in Streamelement when testing it, but not on OBS. The overlay is on OBS is on obs just fine except the alert doesn't appear.

So I tried new scene with only the browser source link to the streamelement overlay, but still no alert on OBS

Then I tried a preset one which should eliminate the "i did something wrong while doing the overlay" but even there no alert on OBS.

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Is there anything that you guys can do to increase the upper limit of the leaderboards in terms of loyalty points? Two people have reached 2147483647 points now and I was told by someone that this number is the upper limit of the 32 bit signed integer scale.

The sub goal does not indicate how many subscribers you have at the moment. If you have a sub goal long enough to have, for example, 3 months, and a person renews their subscription each time, it would count as 3 on sub goal, not one.
You can see and change the subgoal manually on Activity Feed > Widget Data > goals

If you go to your Twitch Channel Analytics, does it show you have 9 subscribers? On Twitch website, click on your avatar (top right) > Creator dashboard > Insights > Channel Analytics > and check the table "How many subscribers do I have today?"

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Credit Roll widget from Streamelements --- Username Font Size

I am using the Credit Roll widget from Streamelements but username font size does not change.

Username font size was 24 by default, changing to 100 does not work, after saving and refreshing.

Title size and subtitles sizes are separate options and they do change sizes when I want. Any help? 🙂

Alert - Text position from Streamelements

Line Height Problem with the alert text with all alerts.

1st screenshot

shows default setting. Text in on Pic - not good

2nd screenshot

putting the important text info in 3rd and 4th row by making text paragraphs with hitting enter.

first and second text line has to be info inside, blank space does not work, so I put symbols into them - not pretty.

Changing line height changes ALL line heights, but I want it to be only on the first line, so it won't cover the picture - like this the alert display is way too big.

How can I solve my problem of changing the text position to my liking ?

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. How do I update the followers total I already have, because the current number for both are inaccurate for me and there is nowhere to update it! so I have the chat bot timers turned on but for the last two days the timers haven't gone off for some reason and I've turned them off and on again to see if that resets them but it doesn't seem to be working while connected to my custom chatbot name. Also noticing that when COD: Warzone crashes, none of my audio from OBS:SELIVE is being sent to Twitch and I would have to restart OBS for my audio to work again. Any suggestions?

  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Follow these steps to grant managers/moderators access to your dashboard:

  1. Click on your channel name at the top of the dashboard
  2. Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)
  3. Send this invite to a mod/manager to give them access to your dashboard. The link is one-time-use and expires after 72 hours if not accepted

Credit Roll widget from Streamelements --- Username Font Size

I am using the Credit Roll widget from Streamelements but username font size does not change.

Username font size was 24 by default, changing to 100 does not work, after saving and refreshing.

Title size and subtitles sizes are separate options and they do change sizes when I want. Any help? 🙂

Your first two commands don't do anything with the counter, they just send a message. The third command gets the value of the counter.

Hi, I am using a RTMP plugin to allow myself to multi stream to multiple platforms (Youtube and Twitch, looking at expanding in the near future) and i'm loving how stream elements is making that easier, but i have one issue/question that i've run into, I've setup my alerts for twitch and i want to setup my youtube alerts and eventually other alerts on the same browser source so that i can add just 1 browser source to OBS and be good on all platforms, at the same time only having 1 browser source eliminates the chance of a twitch alert and youtube alert playing at the same time....
TLDR: is there anyway i can setup my youtube AND twitch alerts to be on 1 browser source instead of multiple

Hello! I am seeing a whole bunch of errors of a few different kinds in my OBS log files from my SE browser sources. I've had them for a long time and never seen this, I regularly examine my own log files. It's relatively recent, like the last month or so. Hmmm... No this is all jacked up... Some are showing correct, some are showing as too much, some too little... I've been wanting to completely move to SE for years now, but this has been the one thing that has always held me back 😦 I'm so close....

I'm getting a repeated message saying that theres "no command with trigger command name found" despite the command name being literally identical

is there a way to have a "source" on obs play when another "source" is activated. Like if i wanted to launch a game and the "game capture" is the source being used to capture the game, when that is activated can I make it to where another "source" is activated, but only when the "game capture" is running

Ok, I think I know the solution to this, but its gonna be a dev issue. Pretty sure the simple solution is to make it so when you change the troll username to the actual username, that information syncs with the widget. Currently, if I change the username and save, nothing changes, but if I add a donation, it will change. Currently Im adding manual donations to certain usernames, but this obviously is all incorrect information and Ill need to correct it in the future if this gets implemented, but it will work-ish for now.

hello! I have a small youtube (75k) and twitch (19k) , trying to connect both platforms while swapping to stream elements and cant get the youtube accoutn connected. Any help appreciated.

Hi guys,

I have a quick query. I have a show on OBS that broadcasts simultaneously on Twitch and Youtube, so I need widgets with information from both platforms.

So far, what I have done, has been to create two independent accounts (twitch and youtube) and get different widgets which are: goal achievement, last subscriptions and followers counter.

OBS is hurting my RAM by having so many browser layers (since I have to duplicate per platform and per scene) and I was wondering if there is a possibility to integrate the widgets of the two platforms in a single widget. I also wanted to ask if I link both platforms into one account, will I be able to create that unified widget?

I attach some screenshots to better understand what I mean.

@lament blade To answer your question here (and indirectly your Reddit post as well): merged alerts/Widgets is not possible at this moment.

For each platform you want data from you will need at least one of each.

Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

  • Merging accounts allows for faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: http://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

Hello Stream elements, I'm having an complete and utter nightmare trying to connect my bank account to my Stream elements, as i feel the information inside has not been set correctly. When i disconnect my SE pay and reconnect it it doesn't let me put in my credentials. Could you assist at all?

@lament blade i've trying to get paypal to process my my donations for a Donation goal but every time someone sends a donation it puts it on a payment hold doesn't set off the alert on my Overlay. so i'm ditching the paypal idea and just having SE pay directly in to my Bank but now i can't get into the SE.pay to change any of my information.

have you checked your payments tab in revenue dashboard. since that will say setup payments?
