The system is actually good. They just made the maps without destructible buildings in them, and instead focused on bigger buildings that aren’t destructible.

The town on Hourglass is entirely destructible. There isn’t a single tree in 2042 you cannot topple over. And the ground deformation is almost as good as BF1.

You can go destroy everything on Arica Harbor if you don’t believe me. The system is there, and it works. The main game maps just don’t have enough buildings. (Which IS an honest fault with the game, that is very sad to see)

I know its an unpopular opinion, but it really isn't that bad. I enjoy the game. Just got 103 assists on breakthrough and took down 10 vehicles with anti tank mines. Hit a tank with parachute with SFAR grenade launcher. Just wild fun shit for now. Sure there are problems, but far from unplayable.

DICE Sweden alone released 9 tanks, 6 planes, and around 30 weapons (iirc, can't remember the weapon count for sure), in 18 months for BFV. flag or sector capture placement has been an issue after BF2, it's a little better in 2042 but they still kind of struggle to place flags according to the terrain, but yeah the environment has definitely seen a constant improvement throughout the successive releases.
