1. BIOS,
2. Set Secure Boot Standard,
3. Save changes and Exit,
4. Boot to Desktop,
5. Restart to get back into BIOS,
6. Set Secure Boot Custom,
7. Save Changes and Exit,
8. Boot to Desktop,
9. Restart again to get back into BIOS,
10. Set Secure Boot Standard and re-enroll Platform Keys,
11. Save Changes and Exit,
12. Try to Boot back to Desktop,
13. Restart to get back in BIOS,
14. Enable Secure Boot,
15. Save Changes and Exit to Boot to Desktop.

Only then would going back in again and attempting to re-enable the XMP Profile be feasible.

Serial Presence Detect is the universal term for the thing, but it is best known under the Intel EXtreme Memory Profile, or XMP Profile name. It affects RAM timings. Tries to clock them up or just handle them with reduced delays, I guess.

There are likely a few additional checks you need to meet first.

CSM Mode Off, OS Boot Type Windows UEFI if you can set it, No Legacy ROM Options and such, and one or three others.

As pure of a UEFI mode as you can.

2. Secure Boot Custom Mode. If this exposes a Factory Platform Key Reset option, select it. Or leave it alone. Save and Exit to Boot.
3. Restart again. Secure Boot Standard Mode. Confirm that you want to reset or enroll the platform keys with factory defaults. Save and Exit to boot.
4. Restart to get back in. Now enable Secure Boot, and Save and Exit.

I'm so done with every engineer playing LIS and only being able to hit 1 shot out of their 10 a match they shoot. Instead of a team that's filled with Stingers that can easily keep choppers and jets always hiding with their flares down.

But it feels since everyone wants to be a hotshot with LIS guided missiles, flares are always basically up if one or two people try to take them down and there's def not the ground coverage of AAs. LIS just needs to be removed, single handedly ruining the AA meta.

Steps to that I took to enable secure boot: Open bios > Disable xmp > make sure everything was uefi > Enable secure boot > f10 and launch.

Worked perfectly to enable it, no issues. What caused this was I opened 2042 and saw some of my settings were not available (I wanted to play in 4k 240hz) and it only offered 60hz as an option.

So naturally I restarted my pc and thats where the fun started, it blue screened and went into a bios to blue screen loop

Not sure if I would do all of that in one trip to the BIOS, owing to a prior case where that also led to an issue, but I see what happened.

I'd rather that got split up into multiple trips. One for Disabling XMP and saving to boot, (Remember to disable BitLocker encryption in the OS at this point, restart, and all that), Then another time to set UEFI options and disable legacy boot and such, and save to exit to boot, then two more times to enroll the platform keys by setting Secure Boot Custom, boot to Desktop, Restart to get back in, Set Secure Boot Standard, confirm re-enrolling of the keys, and save to boot, then going back in another time to actually Enable Secure Boot, and save to exit and boot.

Very time-consuming and a little more harrowing up front, but the idea is to have as much redundancy and degrees of separation in the process, that way there is less chance of a break occurring by combining steps.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts on it.
That said, I'd love to know what kind of stop code was showing in those BSODs, if you remember it.

For those who knew us in BF3 and BF4, ODIN has returned to battlefield and has a new hardcore full xp server up and running. Odin has been around since 2001, avd tomorrow night we are having a bday bash for the founder at 8cst in our server. We will start spreading the word.

ODIN had the number one hardcore server in the world in bf4, with live admin. We intend to take that place again in the new bf6, and we will have pageable admin that our vip can reach out to day or night to get rid of problem players. The real question is where's our 90 euro's that went to this franchise killer, I never saw any mention of the 350k+ petitions on change organization website (can't use URL otherwise 10 min timeout lul) asking for a refund. Game was/is so bad, people are in the menus for the first hour of play time because you can't see if something is enabled or disabled and the second hour is us coping on how the game will improve in the future, and then you're over 2 hours of play time, can't refund the game anymore on steam 🙃

Prerequisites:

1. Do you use XMP Profiles and have one enabled in the UEFI/BIOS settings? Disable them and Save and Exit. Required to avoid bricking the PC.
2. Do you have BitLocker Drive Encryption in use? Disable it as well. Required to avoid bricking the PC.
3. Do you have a NVIDIA Maxwell or Pascal Architecture GPU? You might need to use this tool to be sure the GPU doesn't blackscreen on boot later: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-uefi-update-x64/
4. Want to know what Drive Partition Style you have? Open File Explorer, right-click on your Storage Drive Letter entry, click Properties, click the Hardware tab, click the Properties button, click the Volumes tab, and click Populate, Volumes tab, then Populate again. The Partition Style should be listed as GUID Partition Table, or GPT. If it is, then you do not need to do MBR2GPT commands at all, so do not do that.

Step 1: UEFI Mode settings.

1. Enter the UEFI/BIOS settings by spamming F2 or something on next restart. Use arrow keys to navigate here, or the mouse if you can.
2. Set the following parameters: Disable Legacy ROM Options, Set Boot List Option to UEFI, Disable Attempt Legacy Boot. Also set Compatibility Support Mode, or CSM, to Off as well.
3. Save and Exit to get to the Desktop. See if it boots correctly.

Step 2. Secure Boot Prerequisites.

1. Get back into the UEFI/BIOS settings.
2. Set the following parameters: Firmware TPM/Intel Platform Trust Technology Enabled, PPI Bypass for Clear Command Disabled (If not already), UEFI Firmware Capsule Updates Enabled.
3. Save and Exit to boot to the Desktop. See if it boots correctly.

Step 3. Secure Boot Platform Key Enrollment.

1. Get back into the UEFI/BIOS settings.
2. Set Secure Boot Mode Custom. Save and Exit to boot to Desktop.
3. Get back into the UEFI/BIOS settings.
4. Set Secure Boot Mode Standard. Accept the prompt to install Factory Default security keys.
5. Save and Exit. See if it boots correctly.
   Additional Notes for Step 3: If you still had a XMP Profile set during this Step, it runs the risk of freezing the PC for tens of minutes. There is a way out. Forcibly Power Off the PC by holding down the Power button, Power it back on, immediately spam F2 to get back into UEFI settings, and disable the XMP Profile there. Save and Exit, and see if it boots.

Step 4. Secure Boot Enablement.

1. Get back into the UEFI/BIOS settings.
2. Set Secure Boot to Enabled.
3. Save and Exit to Desktop, and see if it boots.

Step 5. Battlefield 2042.

1. Launch the game, and see if it now passes all checks it expects to. Not only Secure Boot, but also UEFI Mode checks as well.

It is a compiled guide for those who really do not have all prerequisites set up, as well as a guide developed with multiple layers of redundancy to avoid or reduce the chance of combining steps somehow causing a problem.

It is meant to be a slightly more foolproof and not as breakage-risking guide compared to EA's compiled guide, using prior real tech support cases in here as the basis for its information.

Well, at least now the 3 main missing links behind potential breakage have been found out and made known about thanks to prior cases.

1. Doing MBR2GPT commands when the drive is already using MBR2GPT, or if it was using MBR, not using the command with Full Volume parameters.
2. Having BitLocker encryption enabled while enrolling the Secure Boot Platform Keys.
3. Having a XMP Profile enabled while enrolling the Secure Boot Platform Keys.

A prior case, after just doing platform key enrollment by setting Secure Boot Standard, Confirming Factory Default key enrollment, and Saving and Exit to boot, reported a freeze for tens of minutes on end. Forcibly powering off the machine, and turning off the XMP Profile on I believe someone else's suggestion, and Saving and Exiting managed to successfully get the machine to boot again.

Advising re-enrolling the Platform Keys after this was done, as a precaution in case the freeze meant something was potentially corrupted. Just to be sure the enrollment was done to a successful completion, with a successful boot.

The reality of the modern games industry is that the idea of voting with one's wallet and presence by abstaining from future purchases does little to hinder a company. Inconvenience it, maybe, but ultimately, the company is not that likely to flop unless something also gave internally.

It is a similar logic to believing you are giving a place business just by showing up, and expecting to be treated as though you are without the transaction even clearing first.

For those who don’t know how to enable secure boot there is a detailed instruction page provided by ea, for those that need more assistance go to the instruction page and also take the time to go to system, figure out what your motherboard is and also go to your mo manufacturer’s support page and see if there is a bios update available and follow those instructions too, it’s important to scroll and check each thing specifically to make sure everything is where its supposed to be at as when i loaded doom the dark ages for the first time id gave me a warning that i should update my bios or running the game could potentially put more pressure on my cpu than what my motherboard might be able to handle

Oh, yeah, about the EA Guide page: It doesn't mention the need to turn off BitLocker first. A prior user who claimed to have followed the EA site guide to the letter managed to brick the PC with a BitLocker error code and such, and it took 13 hours for that user to unbreak it.

It isn't the exact same due to staff gutting, if enough key staff are gutted, but it will still produce some kind of product.

I have one right now that has always booted when the map loads due to their chest detection. I was able to get it to run two or three in a row, but it reboots my pc. This pc has a 4090 in it, it’s not a small rig and shouldn’t have these issues. I have done everything I could find, including turning off game boost in bios, reinstalling fresh copy of windows and reinstalling the game several times. Also redid the chest software several times. Any advise is welcome.

I was the heart of that place literally dude, i bought them their first cad cam, ran and learned how to run every cnc they had, they went from running equipment thats 100 years old which i also learned how to program setup and operate to running mazak machines and fanuc machines that use g code and had to learn the programming, i fixed their material handling and raw material production problems as well as when i started the cnc i ran was a burn table, or a plasma cutter oxyfuel hybrid, the cad cam i purchased with my own money to use there for them

Was also involved in giving some of those machines tune ups and maintenance related repairs and equipping them with modern day digital read outs so machinists had a more accurate idea of where they set coordinates and i was their highest paid guy, i walked out cause i couldn’t handle the bullcrap

Here's the thing. This prompt was given after doing Secure Boot Standard and confirming platform key enrollment. Shortly after approving the automatic disablement of it, the freeze happened.

Given this occurrence, it became added to the list of surprises to account for in the process. It's fixed now, but ever since it happened, it became advised just in case.

can anyone help? Every time i ADS with a sniper the scope isn't zoomed in until after i ADS, then once ADS's the scope zooms in to its intended magnification (8X) its driving me insane, I've reset everything to default and its still doing it

i had a similar problem, i fixed it with putting the "ADS Field of View" option ON, you can find it under mouse and keyboard>on foot

Well, wired as opposed to using the wireless adaptor or Bluetooth. The PS5 controller is notorious for working with some PC games wired but not wirelessly.

Bios - Boot - Secure Boot - switched it from other to Windows UEFI or whatever that is and it solved the issue for me

Following feedback from Battlefield Labs participants, it was clear that players felt the earliest iterations of the Weapon Sling Gadget was intruding upon Class Identity with its ability to use Double Assault Rifles, or any other Signature Weapon and we agreed.

As stated in our second Community Update on Classes, this is being addressed.

You will no be able to use the following as a second weapon, with the Weapon Sling:
▪️ Assault Rifles
▪️ LMG
▪️ Sniper Rifles

You can use the following as a second weapon, with the Weapon Sling:
▪️ Carbines
▪️ DMRs
▪️ Shotguns

Keep your feedback rolling, balance continues to change throughout Battlefield Labs and beyond.

I have never tried wirelessly. As I already stated, I connect it to my PC via USB. The other user also said they also connect it with a cable.

how you par it ? .... easy. if a usb cable is connected disconnect it make sure the player indicator on the controller is of .. if its on, press and hold the playstaion button until it turns of ... ( press and hold >> create button and the playstaion button until the light bar starts blinking.

then open bluetooth settings, click the button to add devices, and then pair and connect your controller

We're aware of some confusion around Early Access entitlement for next weekend's Open Beta.

To confirm, upon redemption of the Early Access key, you will be required to download the Beta Client on the platform of your choice when it becomes available early next week.

Early Access begins on August 7th, so there will be plenty of time to download the client.

The Early Access key is an entitlement that will work on any platform linked to your EA account; you choose where to play!

Additionally, upon redemption you may see a message stating "Base Game required"; this is referring to the Beta Client which goes live next week.

As far as I know, yes, you need TPM 2.0 to play Battlefield 2042. It's also likely required for Battlefield 6, and I have seen people mention here that it's required for Fortnite. It seems to me that it may be a growing trend, at least for competitive multiplayer games.

Connecting the ps5 controller to pc via Bluetooth is not a problem as I've done this a lot of times and even just did it now, but when booting up 2042, the ps5 controller does not respond to it, DS4 doesnt work, neither is the steam input settings. Where do you boot 2042 from steam or EA?

Well i run not windows 11 on not supported hardware from the time of the first leaks xd I had no problems. It is kind of wierd that you need hardware for a anti cheat software. Maybe Keybord and mouse for PS5 will be a solution if it is even possible xd

I do even have windows 11 insider preview dev versions on a laptop from 2012. No issues to basicaly skip this compatibility bs. However it will probably not be possible to bypass it in this case

The experience codes just allow people to create another server with the same settings. When searching for servers in Portal, you can only serach by server name and experience name.

It’s definitely worth trying out. Would recommend doing solo/co-op playing against Ai to get your aim/graphic settings the way you want it. Aim still feels sluggish/ little off in the game IMO. But all the modes and Weapons are pretty fun. Solid 7.5/10. took me 3 hours to figure out my aim settings😂
