I have an idea to try. Windows Network adapter settings, More Adapter Options, Configure, Power Management tab. Turn off Allow the Computer to Turn Off this Device to Save Power, and Apply. Do this for both Wi-Fi and Ethernet adapters, as they may share the same physical hardware, and turning it off or on in one but not the other may induce a conflict.

It will still be awful even if this setting is turned off, but the idea is attempting to make it slightly less awful.

@obsidian tide I have an update for my situation if this could help anyone else. I updated my BIOS and had a new issue with activating Secure Boot since everything got reset, and this post addresses it (the new error is that instead of telling you to disable CMS reboot and then enable secure boot, it tells you something about needing a platform key while in user mode. You DONT need to follow those instuctions. Changing secure boot mode to custom then back to standard allows you to ignore that and continue as normal)

Idk if you already knew this, but if you wanted to practice flying and get your controls/sens right. You can boot up a solo coop session and practice against bots, it's a lot easier to get flight practice in. Just make sure you pick a map that actually has flying vehicles, maps like stadium don't have flying options.

Okay, another layer to it. On occasion, updating the firmware can reset settings and Platform Keys on ASRock motherboards. To get them back, get User Mode back, and re-enable Secure Boot in the event this happens, Advanced, Windows OS is where to check for Windows UEFI mode settings that one may find more easily in GIGABYTE and ASUS ROG motherboards. This has to be set first, before you can set Secure Boot Type or toggle it, get back to user mode, have the Platform Keys set, and ultimately re-enable it on ASRock boards.

If they did MBR2GPT command usage, it was wrong to do that. That's one of the first ways they can brick the PC. At no point should it ever be done.

If you want proof of it being unnecessary, Open File Explorer, right-click on the C:/ Drive. Click Properties, Hardware Tab, Properties button again. Volumes Tab. Click Populate, Volumes tab again, Populate again. If the Populate results report that the Partition Style is GUID Partition Table, the drive is already using GPT partitioning, so the command is a Should Not Do.

Most Secure Boot or UEFI tutorial guides that one finds in first-time searches online may claim it is necessary, because they date to a time during the Mid-2010s when converting over to GPT partitioning and UEFI booting was just starting to be done, and HDDs (Hard Drives) that shipped already were still using Master Boot Record partitioning. To be able to enable non-legacy UEFI options in the firmware, among them Secure Boot, that was part of the process then, but it is very much not now.

EA Anticheat assumes a lot of important things about a user's system to be able to throw that check and exception. Having GUID Partition Table already, and the ability to set UEFI Options already are two of them.

This place, and some users in it, are at least developing a knowledge base of how to troubleshoot and reduce the risk of enabling it seeming to brick or blackscreen the PC on boot, that seems to be making a little more headway than EA's own provided guides are. Feel free to share more if you like, if it means working out what would need to be done in your case. That way, you do not have to hate that you are affected by it, but can instead turn all hatred of it to the fact that others are permanently affected by it.

Its main purpose is to lock down the bootloader a bit. Make it so that only hardware and drivers the OEM of that board trusts to not be malicious can boot with the PC. Otherwise, it will not boot them.

It requires that a UEFI mode is supported and set to be the primary booting method. CSM, or Legacy boot options, must either be disabled, or only exist as a fallback from UEFI Only at most.

Windows 11 is only supported on PCs that are Secure Boot-capable. Ideally, enabled. It can still be enabled on Windows 10 PCs, but the requirement is looser there.

Your OG statement is confusing. Steam accounts and EA App lite launcher use a different account. So if you try to load your game through your friends steam account it likely wont work...or if you link your EA account to his steam account then your friend may lose the ability to buy/play EA games on is account (As it will be linked to yours)

If you wanted to play BF games you own (Like 2042) on the EA app account you own, you can simply log in to EA app on your account on his PC. Then Download and play the game.
