hopped on portal on ps4 version with crossplay turned off to try to grind out t1 trophies against bots

other team gets 4-5 players cycling in and out while I am alone on the other side. I can leave game and come back in a million times, and it will never put me in that other team.

No options to switch sides either... Yet everyone but me is able to get into the other team with others and just grind vs nothing but bots... except me

They say that the map rotation in 2042 is random but just now I was playing on 128 outside the portal and the rubble map came up which is one of my favorites but when the game ended this map came up again and the logic should be different and then the only option you have is the portal, which usually on servers this discouraging thing about repeating maps doesn't happen

I couldn't replicate the problem because the bots appeared to be trying to revive the downed bot, eventually unable to revive the downed bot. Not sure why the bots can't revive other bots. It might be a bug. I did notice when I downed the bot it did count it as a kill/point even tho the bot was not completely killed.

Even with support, because there is literally no way to have proper team synchronized armor play in this game (because the maps suck for it ) you will still die to the dozen of armor counters from the opposing team.

The best armor in this game for actually playing offensively and getting sectors capped is the brawler, and that is just sad haha

Doesn't help that the MBTs main cannon has not a lot of splash damage, and a terrible projectile velocity on its secondary weapons.

Plus their gunner weapons are weak and have the same issue with projectile velocity.

Players used to fear a tank rolling in. But in 2042 they are seen as easy kills/points. Literally zero menace. Contrary to the Brawler, where you see players not engage where possible due to its offensive and defensive capabilities

Even tho they have been nerfed a lot, I still hate that type of design. You shouldn't make a player feel as if they lost because of anything other than getting outplayed. Same reason I hate armor in 2042. All fields of combat should always be a potential level playing field.

When I say "potential level playing field", an example I would give is...if you add armor plates, all players should be able to have armor always, or none of them should.

And I do think 2942 is a decent game, and looking at where it was at launch (unfinished and massively flawed in hundreds of ways) they did largely fix it from a basic gameplay perspective.

It's very playable, but the games design, speaking about how you actually load into a map and mode actively deters players from paying the "game" part of the game. TLDR; Can't pick the map you want, no persistent servers or lobbies in core modes, constant matchmaking made worse as the playerbase dwindles.

Bfv had too much flip flopping around regarding weapon balance and attrition affect on players. The main thing I like in BFV is how strong heavy armor is, and how much better the maps are. Both aesthetically, and for gameplay/balance.

An alternative would be for DICE to not be so black and white with player counts.

For some reason every mode has to be 24, 32, 64 or 128 players. I'd wager XL modes would work and feel a lot better with a more sensible player count like 80 or 96 players.

Using PVP AI and setting the human limit to 128 I think works, but only when you have another player with you. If it is just you then even if you set the limit to 128 it reverts to 64 it seems.

Based on steam charts, the playerbase dropped off during the hardcore modes addition, so your theory doesnt really hold true. HC modes are not all that popular TBH
