There’s a very common bug that doesn’t unlock attachments and vehicle upgrades sometimes even though you get enough kills and all you can really do is just keep killing things till it finally gives you all the unlocks. Works better to play in online matches though. Sometimes it just won’t give you the unlocks for a long time though. I got almost 600 online kills with the SFAR before it finally unlocked the drum mags for me…

Submachine guns fire pistol rounds. At most the AKS is a carbine (being a subclass of ARs) because of its shortened barrel, but it's still an assault rifle.
