This is Middle Earth: Shadow of War

The orc captain brutalizing the other orc captain is under my control. Apparently to become a spy against a Warchief they need to prove themselves in battle to clear any suspicion because orcs love violence. Even the orc explaining to you how it works says it like "How killing another orc captain in the arena clears any suspicion of you being a traitor? I dunno"

It's a satisfying game that can end up being a bit overwhelming and a painful experience... but dying in the game is actually dying, your character actually dies but comes back because he's a gravewalker. And the captain that killed you will level up, get better gear, mock you for your death and has a chance to even get promoted to Warchief.

Dying by some grunts can make them a captain too, hell, if you want, you can die by an Orc Slave and focus on him enough for him to be the Overlord of the castle.

Seriously one of my favorite single player games right now especially since all of the captains are randomly generated (except for the few tutorial ones that explain you the system). Captains can ambush you, appearing out of nowhere, reference previous encounters, ambush other captains among other things.

It is on Xbox and PC Game-Pass, if you have those, give this game a try I cannot recommend it more.
