So there are usually about 35-40 full Conquest (64 player) servers at any one time on a weeknight in Battlefield V on PS4.

Last night there was about 90. Could definitely tell that there were plenty of new players, a bunch of single digit ranks in each round and surprisingly not too many who couldn't tell their ass from a hole in the ground.

my idea would be, if they make the free to play via gamepass or playstation+ or whatever, give them special Servers so the new people have a halfway good time. But if they wanna join a "normal" server, give them a popup that they can meet people who are familiar with the game. Could prevent the players to run away after the first match

if i see low levels in Bf4 (like, on the server i play, i meet a few each round) they often go out of the round with like 2-20 K/D

You very quickly learn in BFV to avoid servers where the playercount is below 60 because it usually means one team is stomping and people are just leaving.
