Squad's system is 10x better. Rifleman does everything well with plenty of teamplay utility, and the rest of the classes trade off one of Rifleman's utilities for something else.

And I'd say there isn't much of an inherent different to the actual design of the gametypes of Breakthrough in BF1 and BFV. It's just that the map design and gameplay principles between the two games promote different styles of gameplay. Tanks were clunky but dangerous in BF1 and kinda needed infantry support to succeed. In BFV tanks can just solo and wreak havoc, especially from a distance. That one difference alone fundamentally changes the flow of the same gametype in two different games. Plus tons of other stuff.
