I disliked 2042, it was far from what makes bf great, but I enjoyed it just because I could go in and chill
with some easy bots, get a bunch of kills, jump in any vehicle I wanted pretty much and basically have a more
relaxing experience while at the same time being able to train and get accustomed to the guns / vehicles.

A small balance pass on the XFAD-4 Draugr is now live ahead of further changes to aircraft in a future update on Battlefield 2042.

⚫️HE primary weapon blast damage lowered 20 to 18
⚫️JDAM bomb reload has been increased 20- to 25
⚫️Incendiary bomb reload has been increased from 30 to 35
⚫️Incendiary bomb max damage radius has been lowered from 8 to 4
⚫️Incendiary bomb general blast damage radius has been lowered from 20 to 8

The changes to blast radius of the incendiary bomb is to target the sudden initial damage that players would take from the explosion itself. Note: The burning radius will remain unaffected.

We'll continue to monitor feedback around these changes.

While the engine was slightly unimpressive then, what made it work was map art direction taking precedence, Rush-first map design with Conquest merely being a cutout of the experience, and being a game where gameplay was the majority of what mattered.

It was a crossroads between BF2 and BF3 onward. And we just so happened to enjoy its simple niche.

Now if only its tickrate was better. Oh well. BF3 also had that problem.

Modern Warfare 3 Original, in the case of BF3. Bad Company 2 was alongside Black Ops 1.

MW3 Original was already a doomed product in some ways. Its engine, while termed IW5, was more like MW2's IW4 with useful, but very incremental improvements to it. Also, it was hindered by Infinity Ward being gutted of most of its staff by Activision for insubordination or something. Including a certain name that is now on the next Battlefield. That staff got replaced, but even so, a very different Infinity Ward existing in name only was churning that out. And the Sledgehammer Games studio had to help as well.

Another hindrance to MW3's release, in a subtle way, was its PC version's surprise new feature of Image Quality. A resolution scaling setting, that most importantly, was not set to Native by default. Unless you learned you needed to change it manually, the game would perpetually look worse than it should have. A low bar made even lower by that decision.

For its flaws it was still a pretty good game all around, but BF3 was just so much better, it had good qualities and an excellent perk system as well as a campaign, but it had more flaws than perks and is the very tip of the iceberg that is currently flipping on what cod has become

In spite of having a much more massive scale and extent of details in multiplayer and campaign, and being intended for DirectX 11 and 64-bit systems on PC (8th Gen consoles comparably), BF3 managed to still be on a 7th-Gen console ecosystem.

BF3 was such a huge sell given all it could be in spite of the constraints.

I mean everyone who beta tested complained about their class situation etc and theyve mentioned that its the way itll be.
What we thought was going to be a BFBC2 level game has turned out to be on the surface a flunk in the making.

Hello, I have not played any of the battlefield titles in a few years, but recently I tried to play again and was met with some error stating my operating system is not allowed basically. Looking into this, apparently there is a new anticheat that mandates running antichrist (windows), secure boot, TPM among other horrendous crap, that was retroactively added to the older titles.

Considering I was able to play on linux before with no problems, and now have been arbitrarily restricted, where do I send the email / request for refund? Product is now voided, rendered useless. Fairly certain this is valid under ACL, as the software I purchased has now been rendered defective / unsafe.

I found the requisite form for refunds but it just states some arbitrary crap and prevents submission, chargeback it is !

Best Battlefield is 2 in memory. Because it was so much better than 1942. And I was a young gun and found my first clan in it because someone talked to me over VOIP in squad. Technically, I like Bf5 a lot since high grass is also rendering on a distance, it has destruction and everything is running smooth while looking good. I also like the medic / revive gameplay. Battlefield 3/4 have the best setting for me, but the level gameplay feels abit different to the bf5 conquest maps.I would love a battlefield, that combines a mix between bf2, bf4, and bf5 in terms of gameplay.

When a particular platform dominates most social media interactions, there’s almost no one else to talk to elsewhere if they, for instance, don’t take down false accusations, bigotry, nudity, crime, or anything else clearly indefensible.

Although the old version of the Battlefield engine is not as good as the new engine, the experience of each unit in the game (soldier movement, guns, vehicles...) is simulated just right. It is similar to Arma 3. Compared with the two, the Battlefield 2 simulation vehicle types are less and the functions are simpler. But don't forget that Battlefield 2 was made 20 years ago.

Apparently the ranger is linked to you, because only a couple people out of the 64 can deploy one, whenever you die the ranger has to die as well, for someone else to use.

I never really understood why more couldn't be deployed, they were really cool to fight and added a bit of versatility in gunfights, providing cover fire while you hide to reload.

i feel like specialists could’ve been better implemented by making them faction specific and them having faction based uniforms but they weren’t implemented to serve gameplay but as a vehicle to sell skins

the concept could’ve been really cool if they were implemented in a way that better served gameplay while staying true to battlefields core concepts

that's the mistake if you use match making it will put you in the next available one

use server browser to find games, reset the filter and under free slots select, none, 1-5, 6-10 and 10 + then you will see all servers, under full filter you can select your region

now if you want more ops check what maps each server has and select one that is not playing only the operation campaign

so did a quick check atm there are 50 ops server on EU

31 run the operation campaign and the rest 19 have the others

also I suggest you join the DICE official servers and not the mixed official since the latter is for blood and sand aka oil of empires and gallipoli

I just came here to say I heavily dislike the decision further destroy battlefield's identity by officially unlocking weapons from classes. The game looks like a warzone clone now and I will not be purchasing now. I was really looking for a return to form. Very, very upsetting. Delay the game a year and lock weapons and I'll consider coming back. Not that anybody has to listen to me or that I think I know better than everyone else. This is just my opinion.

I've successfully avoided Battlefield 2042 and to a lesser extent Battlefield V (it turns out it's not that bad) for the past 7 years

1. Assault has medpacks + defibs, support has LMG + ammo packs
2. Assault has ammo packs, support has LMG + med packs + defibs
