To embed a link into a message like you did, it uses markdown. Markdown is a chat formatting. And the link to the support page on Discord is now embedded into the words "chat formatting".

More to the point, how are you supposed to get support on things like this of the mailbot isn't even part of the server?
The other way links are embedded into Discord is that you can see a preview of the link directly on the platform. This doesn't use markdown as the embed method, but instead is native to Discord and is disabled in most channels.
We currently don't have a mail bot for this, as our moderation system runs through a separate process. We're currently working on a way to make it possible to have both, without overloading the mail bot system with appeals that should go through the EA process.
So should the message not then be changed? Or is that a default setting from Discord, because the information is misleading.
We'll update it when we have the appropriate outline for it.

Automod is not the only moderation on this server. The main moderation happens through the #how-to-report-and-appeal system.

It was a general statement, which won't be fixed as you can't speak to mods, or any sort of support regarding appeals.
please give us active mods for the general chats, or volunteer mods with timeout perms, i know theres fear for scandals but every regularly used chat is yust so toxic.
#how-to-report-and-appeal we have moderation active, as well as moderators that follow up on the reports sent via the process outlined in the linked channel.
Most unmoderated server on discord, it really gone downhill since EA took over

also if everything bad was actually reported the staff team would def be overworked
you have to understand that a small indie company like EA cant have many active discord moderators. They also had barely any time to prepare for the BF6 launch
There is active moderation, just not 24/7. That's what the reporting system is for, so we can use resources on several servers at the same time.
the general chat is unhinged 24/7 
well ty for atleast replying, but i feel like you should add some active community members to a volunteer mod team so that theres active moderation for longer periods of time

And if you say, oh we removed that because it can be abused, well how about you learn or start to moderate the server that you stole from the community - small indie company with limited resources my ass
Thats exactly the reason it was removed, 1 min time out caused people (who didnt even seem to be talking tbh) to just react spam every message
lack of enforcement from scammer reporting that spam me constantly being just in this discord, i suggest a admin ticket system to get the bot/scammers banned
If its DM spam they dont really touch that stuff, unfortunately .. just have to block them
ok, since my first post in here last weekend or when ever it was ive gotten 32 dm/ friend requests 3 i dmed saying hi, where scammers but now i have set up my dmeds to be blocked and no one can send me a friend request ether since the discord ban exploit is still not fixed going on 3 years now

It would be nice if each update thread in #1335997362258186292 were pinned to the main post because with so many comments, we have to scroll to the top (for mobile, there's no "go to top" button). This way, we can more easily access the first pinned post.
When I open on mobile it automatically takes me to the top.
Not always, generally mobile app is very buggy. There will be times that threads wont show xD

I'm respectfully asking for improved transparency and/or communication regarding moderation decisions in this server. I was muted for a week with no warning and no indication as to what I did wrong. I still don't know which message(s) got me a mute. I followed the Discord appeal process, but that just ended up with my case sitting in the EA support queue with no response for a week straight despite me requesting a followup multiple times. I get that BF6 just came out and support is probably drowning in tickets right now - but surely there are improvements to be made to this whole process. Ideally one that doesn't require submitting a support case through an external ticketing system for an unrelated platform. Even if users were just auto-DM'd the reason for action taken against them, that'd be massively helpful.
Hey! Thanks for the feedback. The system is not unrelated. The EA moderation team uses that system to apply account strikes on here. Depending on the traffic, it does indeed take some time for tickets to be resolved. You should receive a bot DM with the information about your strike. Make sure you have DMs turned on for the server. Otherwise, you should receive the information when your ticket is replied to, if you requested it.
In your case I also have to say that it's pretty straightforward. The language you used is unacceptable, as you referred to several races in derogatory terms to make a "funny" statement about wars.

Well now that seems suspicious. Given that I'm a devout anti-racist, that doesn't seem remotely like something I'd post. You can feel free to DM these messages to me. If I don't know why I was muted, and you're unable to tell me why I was muted, then where's the line? In that case it sounds like EA support can just mute people for any reason they make up?
If you don't know what's appropriate and what isn't, I suggest you check out the #rules before posting. As I said, you can feel free to get your appeal looked at via the appropriate channels. Your case is just so clear-cut that I wanted to point it out.
As outlined on my message, your advised support channels don't work. My ticket is still sitting open a week later with no response - there's not much point in it now is there? Why direct users to an external support channel if your support team evidently doesn't use it in any timely matter where it'd make sense to? Discord has had native moderation tools and plugins for exactly this reason for a long time - it sounds like you're just re-inventing an objectively worse version of the wheel, except it's just a square and doesn't even work as wheel.

Also - if your moderation process requires users to open their inbox to spam from the half-million random users in this server, it's objectively a stupid process. Let me know if y'all need any protips, I'm getting the impression you're new to Discord or customer support in general. No shame in that.
Hello, hope y’all are doing well. I noticed ppl saying a lot of the same type of compliant or similar general comments. Would it be possible to make a bot that deletes the message, DMs them directly on where to find the info such as FAQs or pinned items in the channel? I know other discords have something similar to help clear clutter that seems to be filling up the page.
Other two minor suggestions would be to make an lfg-channel for hardcore players. The second is a hardcore general chat or sub-chat for bf6 to find portal servers, discuss ideas or bring up issues with the hardcore community promoted playlist (HC breakthrough and HC rush still have HUDs, no increased damage, etc) to help get it fixed quicker.

apologies for the ping, just want to inform you tho ive never been in trouble having DMs unblocked on a popular large discord is risky for users with the discord chat exploit thats still active going on 3 years now, hence why i tend not to talk in normal chat nor have my dms open, ive been spammed 32 times already and i just rejoined this server friday, all the 32 dms where bots or ban exploiters or scammers, in my opinion there has to be a better way to go about this. thank you for your time.
You can just use the appeal form for strikes and receive the same information. You don't need to have DMs open. It just gives you instant information when you're struck.

Anybody that’s on battlefield labs and have access to giving feed back to the devs please tell them add warning ⚠️ to our maps when we spotted by enemy and we on their mini map like old bf did it a yellow outline outside the map telling me everyone on the enemy team sees me

discord feedback: able to do message mod team or have a ticket system when requesting a community mod for professional opinion on reporting users , and false flagged by EA bot for strict censorship. pt2: requesting a discord staff manager to dm user for private consultation on issues regarding the community.

I second this, I got timed out for "embedding" a youtube link via markdown, and got flagged for spam, it told me to message a non existant service to get an appeal, and they won't change the message from giving false information, because they don't have a system in place yet.
Ive never heard a good thing about EA support, and you can clearly tell the desire here is to do practically nothing as well, they just want the numbers that came with the server, I dont think they care about this place other than a free advertisement tool
the updates aren't present in Channels & Roles it seems.
I've added the roles into the onboarding, you can select them from id:customize too. Bot might be overloaded with requests right now.

ONE announcement. I woke up to multiple pings this morning.
It's one thing to ping/announce when there is emerging information, like known issues on launch. But pinging for new role channels, pinging for release, pinging for known issues, pinging again for some other thing...
Also, pings in ONE channel, not several, so that if I've muted pings from THAT channel, I don't need to then mute the entire server because of even more pings.
We've just updated our roles. You can opt-out on notifications this way.
I don't want to opt out is my point.

We are publishing these to inform players. When the news are ready, we post them. If you don't want to be pinged, you can unselect the roles and won't be pinged. You can then catch up when you return to Discord by checking the channels manually.
I have a bug to report. The redsec update broke the multiplayer mode. Is there a place I can submit a report?
