5 is a better game objectively than 1 because you can actually play the game interms of peeks and pushing and retreating because it has the best movement in the series

i honestly would rather play 2042 than 5 despite the bad maps and gunplay in that game aswell

and other issues

I reckon the reason I played 2042 so much was simply: it was the new game. That and crossplay. I have a friend who plays on PC, so it was the only BF game we could play together.

That said, BF1 is my favorite. Probably my fav shooter of all time. So nothing compares to that

I think DICE did the best they could with the setting and the occasional lack of reliable information about weapons and stuff. Like it was a much more slower and visual based game cause WW1 is basically a horror movie irl, and gun technology wasn’t nearly as refined as it became even just 20 years later, so I think it all plays into why BF1 “feels” the way it does for people

Well excluding bf4 movement tech (which I wanna say came about around quarantine anyways, so not even really fair to mention as nobody probably knew about it for years prior), the movement is similarly grounded and then as for gunplay, it’s pretty much the exact same, except for the fact that bf1 reintroduced visual recoil

BF4 originally had visual recoil as well but this was removed in CTE(?)

They’re really not all that incredibly different. I think, in general, the critiques have a lot to do with people’s biases against the setting than anything else

Modern is simply more relatable so I’m fully convinced people placebo themselves into accepting certain elements of gameplay when it’s modern than when it’s WW1

In bf4 it’s just ‘click on triangle on map’. In 1 it’s ’follow the guy with this magic aerial drone’. If mortars come back I’d say let them have the bf4 style map and click as usual, but just don’t display any enemy markers on that map. Have people use it to actually fire on locations to have the mortar achieve its goal rather than someone just clicking on big dots cause kill

I just feel like with the approach they have used so far, people didn’t use it to actually target parts of the map where it was needed, and just focused down players. It’s like grenades, should be used by targeting the area rather than the player

Isn't my point, is that the combined arms focus ever since BF2/2142 has been massively weakened. BF6 seems to carry on the idea that 4 man squads is just fine when going beyond 32 players isn't

BC2 for 24-32 players a lot of the gameplay was fine for that scale/palyer count. But trying to do similar with BF2042's 128p w/ hero type chars was a very poor decision. If everyone is runing and gunning with heroes, why do 128p?

Bought BF1 yesterday, got a 4 cores Ryzen 5, 8 gigs of ram and a 1650.

campaigns and both 24 and 64 lobbies stutter like crazy and the latency and low fps symbols appear constantly, to the point of being lowkey unplayable, the performance is (I feel) too low for medium settings from the benchmarks i watched.

you can use this to see if steamdeck will work

We have not publicly talked about the selection process and while there are many things to consider, there are a ton of applicants and we are only inviting an amount that we need for the tests, which means not everybody will get in.

Since most weapons are just irons, and some skins changed the whole color of the sight post, i had a reason to swap depending on maps

Remember the explanation I gave in DMs about that user psychology thing. Not only was the prior hype validated and misery over 2042 and the franchise's fate briefly stayed, but that explanation also covers why talking about it is so brazen.

TL;DR for it, Mass Public Advertisement of Signups = Signups are now Public Hearsay not covered by an NDA in their collective minds and impressions. Even if the NDA terms state that talking about the Signup eligibility is part of what is not to be openly disclosed.
