i mean this is incredibly situational and map dependant, if you defend a cap the entire game and you only got 10 kills but you never died and you held 1 point then the value of that player is massive. this is not the same as discussing the overall principles of the game mechanically which has quite a punishing death and spawn system even with beacons , it rewards more skilled players and particularly those able to consistently achieve high KD because this translates into pressure, caps, and worse spawn zones for the opposition.

Open weapons allows you to tailor your primary to the map/game mode/section of the map and stay on the same class you enjoy. I often swap my primary weapon & attachments based on the map state, how my team is doing, what area needs help, etc

I think viewing and determining the class identities is flawed due to how significantly maps would impact their viability. Classes should be, as they've always been, defined primarily by their gadgets / what they bring to the squad. Assault gets the squad in close and is good for pushing, engineers for anti-vehicle play, support for ammo/cover/revives, recon for spotting/C4. Give a class weapons that make them too good at one thing or another and you end up with balance problems and a boring game where everyone is running the same class and loadout

See the problem with this line of thought is that it assumes all weapons do the same thing. They dont. Shotguns are good for clearing buildings and getting in close, LMGs are good at covering fire and holding a position, snipers are good at long range and picking off key targets, etc. These are class roles. No class has only one role, they have several and the best class systems combine these roles into an overall playstyle.

honestly i find the push for higher and higher FPS to be a bit absurd and the same with Graphical fadelity... there is a point where you are sacrificing potential gameplay for more realistic butt cheeks on your character or being able to count their nose hairs. You also don't need more than a stable 60 FPS because the human eye can't process that quickly, There is no occular benefit to it. I'm just as happy playing a very indepth mechanical game like Noita which is basically Pixel art as i am playing Battlefield 3
