idk if vulkan quirk or 0.5 bug but leaving a map and coming back to it makes it get revealed in a buggy way
You probably have to clear your shader cache

You mean the map doesn't reset for everyone all the time? I thought that is the norm, wasn't sure it stayed until zone resets before otherwise.

Ah, something like that happens as well. The map is a mess so i didn't think anything about it, but maybe it shouldn't get reset/messed up every time you teleport.
If I use this custom ReShade64 is it going to fuck up ReShade for my other games too?
Only if you use vulkan reshade in other games, if at all.
If it only affects Vulkan then I should be good. My other games are DX12

All the sliders can cause a crash when using reno, was like that before the update as well.

I mean, you can use reshade and Lilium's shaders for better HDR. Not Reno good, but better than the alternatives

Too bad their VK Api is bad too. Takes like 10% more GPU for the same FPS as DX12

not sure, I couldn't turn on HDR on vulkan with optiscaler installed though so I assumed it was doing smth to poe
so i just uninstalled it for now

wow, really? I swapped my DLSS, guess I'll have to change it back
i would imagine that doing it through the nvidia app is fine, i think that (might?) handle the swap at a driver level and not replace the actual game file
Yea I swapped them in the folder a long time ago with DLSS Swapper lol. Im pretty sure youre safe if doing it through nvapp. I also know you're good if you do it with dlssglom which is what I use personally since this replaces the ngx folder directly instead of inside the game directory itself.
yeah i just switched back to the original DLL and started using the nvidia app
As ridiculous as it is - reinstalling has fixed the maps getting messed every time you change zones for me, so far.

Ive been using SK hdr in both poe and poe 2 forever. No bans, no warnings...

I think if you delete the cache then don't touch any settings it should stay fixed.
Didn't help me, but haven't had a map reset on its own after reinstall yet, whereas before it was guaranteed every time.

only issue I've been having is the very long black loading screen when going from town to map and vice versa. Feels alot worse now than it was before, but not sure

I been just playing on my living room pc with a controller for the first time. Works pretty well with controller
this is also coming from the same game on release that hard froze mine and many other pc's

Idk about vulkan but on dx12 the game keeps recompiling shaders excessively all the damn time this patch. Was fine before 0.5. So that also murders my CPU

fwiw i'm on Linux and cleared prefix when i uninstalled the game, so got rid of the whole AppData/Roaming/PoE2 and whatever else the game makes.

and cpu is at like 800ms in the overlay

Had this happen every time, my two friends who're using dx12 are also having the same issue. I think it's just the update or servers
Funnily enough, I also one shot her with my huntess owl feathers + barrage + snipe. Didn't even freeze her, just parried for the frenzy charges

Agreed. The intended style is psychotic. Constantly switching between melee, ranged, and parrying just to do the same damage as a beefed up arrow
I went hard into armor, evasion, and deflection and it's been working out pretty well though. I feel pretty invincible, but I'm sure that'll drop off in end game
the owl feathers are crazy with snipe. Dishing out 7x the damage every 12 seconds is nice
Yep. It's slightly better on dx12 but still present. Clearing shadercache alleviated it a bit for a while, but it quickly got back to where it was

Loading in and out of maps is not great
If you die at a boss and respawn, the game decides to tank the FPS to like 1 for 5-10 seconds until it stabilises
Could record one later. It's nothing crazy, every 4 seconds I get an owl feather charge and I can consume 3 by rolling to add 6 full damage projectiles to my next attack\
So I usually parry 3 times to get 3 frenzy charges, roll away, activate barrage, then snipe
the shots spread, so I gotta stay close enough that they don't miss, but they seem to home in/aim at your target anyway
Not looking forward to that, I've mapped where enemies swarm you right out of the gate
Got this for the primal bounty Spirit walker projectile node, it's insane. 100% can recommend.

Anyone with performance and crashing issues set a pagefile of 48gb. Even maps are smooth.
Game has some issues with cache for sure, think i finally solved mine by upping the limit of files that can be opened, disabling cache cleanup, and adding --waitforpreload
Can try that on Windows as well, I have appended to game exe path --nologo --waitforpreload
And I play monkey build, shredding everything in SSF so far.
does waitforpreload actually work?
I've noticed the game will be on pause sometimes after setting it and loading somewhere, I assumed that was the sign it is working. Whether it helps or not - no idea, worth trying, I still had issues until I did other stuff.

Monk has been really smooth sailing leveling so far. You don't even need to upgrade a weapon since you just use fists and do huge damage
I am still early into it though
at act 4
so didn't get to endgame yet
i actually dont seem to have that issue
only issue for me thus far is just the map resetting
monk was my first one
did an ice strike one but i was struggling in act 4
made a contagion essence drain witch after that
had like 0 single target dps but general clear was insane xd
now my ice shot ranger is hella fun
and like outside of my couple deaths with the giga fps drops i only died like.. two or three times
yeah i use storm wave to detonate the ice crystal and just blows everything up
for single target i debuff them, then freeze the boss and hit them with the one ice move that if uses a freeze charge it does insane single target damage
when it's OFF the reshade not working but making it ON it works
Hey! So I played this game for the first time today and... I found one "bug?" that's quite the QOL problem for me: I can't rebind "dodge only" or "dodge/sprint" to the ALT key. I mean, I can, but then it does not work when I press ALT. Why?

think you can't bind most things to single modifier keys like alt,shift, ctrl
in terms of performance? I can tell you based on me having one, it will melt your cpu

Yeah, I've been lazy and have just stayed on Vulkan. Currently at T11 maps and performance has been similar to dx 12 for me.
I'm blasting max refresh rate on both so I can't see a difference anyway
is vulkan more optimized after this patch now? Back then it was unplayable (for me) with constant slight microstutters and crashes (every hour)
vulkan is very usable now
some people are reporting a lower FPS ceiling, but nothing dramatic

If you're having times where the game tanks FPS to like 1 for a few seconds when loading new maps and whatnot, try setting your pagefile higher
it fixed all of those issues for me even with 32GB ram
DX12 works better on my system than vulkan, but seems to vary a lot for people
dropping to 100ish fps during abyss and what not. otherwise capped smoothly at 156 fps

hmm i installed renodx and the overlay pops up but the game still looks the same as if renodx isn't doing anything

I'm still stuttering in vulkan, actually the stuttering went from microstutters to full on stuttering. it's unplayable for me

I've got the same setup and performance is really steady in t15 maps. I noticed that having reflex on in the settings caused alot of issues but I disabled it in campaign and haven't had any performance problems since.

I lost like 100fps on a 5090 with vulkan. All i did was change in the config to Vulkan. Am I missing something?
no vulkan certainly does have lower performance on high end hardware at the very least
especially on max fps
they can all drop to similar levels when a lot is going on though

would like to note this nvida setting fucks with a lot of things may be related. It fixed a frame dropping issue with obs so I always have it on this.

idk about that, fairly ignorant but the game doesn't run as "poorly" as it did first vulkan swap so it prob does have some cache
Aren't we all CPU bound on highend systems in poe2 though? Like I never reach close to 100% usage on the GPU during abysses etc. where FPS starts dropping a little

Vulkan does create a cache folder in the app data directory that is separate from the dx12 one
Think you can get ok results from native hdr in this game, but it has a weird bug where it uses the SDR brightness slider from windows when in hdr for paper white
But everytime I load a zone, shaders have to be recompiled. Vulkan bug only?
