I get the feeling I'm in an area I maybe shouldn't be in yet...I have just started Day 16 of the first spring in my first playthrough. I went into the community center for the first time after being suggested I should go there. I found a coded message, and because I used to do cryptoquips in the newspaper, solved it. I think I know what it's asking me to do, but I don't yet know how to drop items. I"m basically just beginning this game. Every time I try to drop an item, it's apparently too close to me and it gets picked up right now.

Is it possible to drop an item far enough away where it doesn't get picked up? I'm very possibly doing the wrong thing, so don't tell me if I'm doing the wrong thing. Just let me know if it's possible to do that.

im thinking bats because i get fruits early but i wonder if theres a secret to mushrooms that make the cave more valuable

Mushrooms gets you a dehydrator but beyond that you could just use Mushroom logs

Fruit bats get you greenhouse earlier without needing to buy goats

Since Goats are pretty expensive

Both don’t really scale that great anyways and are outclassed by other money sources
