Tappers are useful for resources. A tapper on an oak tree will give oak resin, a tapper on a maple tree will give maple syrup, a tapper on a pine tree will give pine tar

It can take a while for tappers to gain resources, so its better to have a few if possible. If youre early game, dont worry too hard on pouring tons of resources into it

One of my favourite things tappers help with is oak resin. Oak resin is used for kegs

you may regret getting rid of stuff on your farm in the early game - not because it has long term effects (trees regrow and you don't want the stupid rocks and stuff anyway), but because clearing space costs energy and you have very little of that early on. Clear as much space as you need to clear, and if you need wood/stone gather it, but don't feel like you must clear more space than you need.

It's not a big concern early on. Just keep an eye on birthdays as they give a 8x friendship boost. Friendship isnt a big prio early on tho

Maybe you can try visit Pelican Town as empty or distant. Avoid NPC interaction except night. Play at night cycles only. Day you should stay at farm.
