it does not invalidate normal bait, bc normal bait is STILL the first option you will likely use, when you are starting out

baitmaker, which is introduced at level 6 fishing, remains as an option for those who are more comfortable with fishing, and is merely a QoL for those who want to play with a certain playstyle

how to make friends:

• talk to the npc every day (be sure to exhaust all dialogue)
• give gifts (up to 2 a week, make sure they're "loved" and of high quality; if you can't get loved, liked will do)
• be certain to give gifts on birthdays above all else
• avoid rummaging thru the trash when they're nearby
• do the quests on the bulletin board outside pierre's shop

that is completely fair! CC is the main "goal" at least for early game but later on there's so much more as there's an end goal "completion" aspect to stardew as well - and it's cool even if you don't want to do it as well, everyone plays differently
Cyclone just has a very specific view on how games/games shouldn't be like, and hasn't played stardew in way too long

bring food with you to the mines, and i recommend grinding out the earlier floors and killing bugs, if you kill 80 bugs you can get insecthead as a good early to mid game weapon - any bugs work, including those blue bugs that die with 1 scythe hit

bombs aside (bombs is more of an unconventional take for normal mines because in early game you have different uses for your ores e.g. for tool upgrades and sprinklers), upgrade your pickaxe - the fewer hits it takes to break an ore node, the lesser time/energy you'd have to waste

to get down it's usually by bombing huge cluster of rocks for ladders or shafts or by staircasing - ||your goal is to get as deep as possible for more treasure floors, as well as iridium nodes|| (each iridium bar sells for 1.5k w/ the blacksmith profession)

so you avoid unnecessary combat

they are easy to farm but you can never have too much coal, cherry bombs are also just not worth it for how much they can blow up (generally speaking)

here's the prep i'd do for ||sc (it's the same info as the chart basically) - all trades at the desert trader
exchange rubies for spicy eel
exchange diamonds for triple shot espresso
exchange jades for stairs (only on sunday)
exchange quartz for bombs (5 quartz 1 bomb) + craft bombs if needed
exchange omnigeodes for desert warp totems (3 omnis 1 totem)

healing - salads/cheese/purple mushrooms/cacti/squash/carrots, depending on what i have on hand

warp there bright and early on a max luck day for max amount of time in sc, ladder, bomb stuff, u can use explosive ammo too if u'd like
and more importantly, eat when ur health hits half (not when it gets low/ avoid combat as much as possible if that's not what you're there for - tho u can also just go there for monster slaying

galaxy sword is the preferred minimum weapon, but if u don't have that yet, steel falchion is good enough for ur 1st trip until u get ur 1st prismatic shard ||
