It depends on what type of games you're into, if you mostly play competitive and AAA titles then you might not like this genre, although as someone who play competitive only I did enjoy stardew valley

Early-game didn't make sense and there was a lot of confusion so I hated it initially, but as you give it time and a chance you'll start to enjoy it. the game has a perfect engagment to keep you hooked for hours since you'll be chasing goal after goal (upgrading the barns, expanding the farm, in-game quests etc)

allows you to have a bigger bar size (at level 5)
fish escape slower, and you won't hook a difficult fish (nothing above difficulty 50)
the only downside is no quality fish, but the goal is to get used to it
