if you're really unsure about it - i would suggest watching more people play it, just so you can get an understanding of it

I sell most of the fish I catch around 1pm on day 2 to buy fiberglass rod, bait, some dressed spinners and trout soup to max out the day, then start saving fish for level 5 to get backpack upgrade on day 4 and copper pick on day 6

those are useful purchases! i'm not sure why specifically 10k, but fishing is definitely the best way to fill in any income gaps you might have
