sidenote wrt strawberries: the way that CA designed it is that - if you completed the spring foraging and spring crops bundle (cauliflower done on the 13th itself, u donate crops after egg festival), you can collect the reward and use the speedgro on 20 strawberry plants (planted on the 13th) for a 3rd harvest before the end of the season

u enter town anytime between 9am to 2pm, and time pauses during the event, once u leave it, u get sent back to ur farm at 10pm
so time is automatically "skipped" in that sense, u are left with 10pm to 2am at the end of the day

I have a bunch of fruit wines saved from kegs

ya so fruit -> put in keg (quality of the fruit doesn't matter)
the wine u first get from the keg will always be normal quality
put the wine in cask -> it will slowly go from silver to iridium (u can check exact times on the wiki)

some use retaining soil, to save on sprinkler space! (in late game u get a v good one
since speed gro only affects the first harvest, it doesn't change the time between harvests

I've just got 6 in the greenhouse and 2 outside so far, but yeah I'd been using quality for my strawberry and blueberry etc since they sell for more and i use the normal quality for wine

they die when the season changes OR when lightning strikes them (some crops can last for >1 season, u have to read the description
if u don't water the crops they just stop growing that's all
