Okay to fish left click to move your bar up. The goal is to keep the majority of the fish icon in the green bar. If its in the green bar your catch meter goes up. If its out the catch meter goes down.

The training rod is good for helping you learn how to fish though once you reach level five fishing ditch it. As youll.have the same size fishing bar at that point.

You can also gaining fishing xp from crab pots, certain books, and I think fish ponds.

if we consider early game ways to make money, you can fish to make money every day but it's not the most big money game changing move, but that's all you can do if you haven't done anything else much

in spring, you can plant potatoes and cauliflowers to make money, and funnel your earnings into strawberries seeds (you can only buy them at egg festival) but this is dependent on how many days are left in your season

potatoes take 6 days to grow and cauliflower 13 days
