I tried to send a detailed, in-depth message about this, but didn't realize that masked links were restricted so I got timed out for it unfortunately. I didn't save the message so I'll summarize it. I know the conversations passed but I wanted to give you this info regardless

What you want is something called Mayonnaise Machines! You can make them relatively easily with materials accessible at your point, and the recipe is from Farming 2 which you should have by now. Regular Eggs of any quality yield Normal Quality Mayonnaise, while Large Eggs of any quality yield Gold Quality Mayonnaise. This means that it's "best" to use your normal quality eggs or large eggs first, but any quality egg or large egg will still sell for less than their artisan counterpart anyway. Cheese works in a similar way.

Regardless of perks, mayonnaise sells for way more than eggs do. On average, about twice as much for regular eggs, and just a bit more than twice as much for large eggs.
With Rancher, from Farming 5, you receive a +20% sell value increase for animal products, including Mayonnaise. This increases your sell value of both eggs and mayonnaise. However, with Artisan from Farming 10 (instead choosing Tiller at Farming 5), this buff is increased to +40%, but only for Artisan goods.

Either one of these perks will overall increase your income by quite a bit, Artisan increasing it quite dramatically. (If you've picked Rancher already, don't worry - ||you can change your profession at the Statue of Uncertainty in Sewers for 10,000g.||)

Adding onto this -- In the ||Skull Caverns||, the chance for Iridium increases as you go down, but is quite rare in the starting levels. By prioritizing going down instead of mining resources in the first ~30 levels (from my experience) you can generally get quite a bit more Iridium by getting to the lower levels. Use things like bombs or staircases to get down faster :3

So I'm a little lost. I just finished 120 in the mines. I tried doing skull caverns but they hit like a truck. What could I farm for in the mines so I can grind for while I'm getting combat xp. And what floor?

Special gift that is universally loved, and also gives a DRAMATIC friendship boost (compared to other gifts). It also bypasses the 2-gift weekly limit. :3

If you're prioritizing combat XP, I'd say go to the lower levels of the mine (>90) because the enemies there give more XP of course because they're harder. There you can also farm gold, but don't smelt it, instead use the (hopefully stockpiled) Shadow Essence you've gathered, as well as Solar Essence (either essences can also be bought from ||Krobus|| at 10 per day), and four gold ore to make Mega Bombs (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Mega_Bomb). If you've already gotten the Dwarvish Safety Manual (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Dwarvish_Safety_Manual) you can use these more safely instead of taking ~15-20 damage per bomb.

This way, you can both get combat XP, which will give you more health and also unlock the higher skills, as well as net you the resources to make a very useful tool for exploring the caverns. I like using about 5-20 of them each of my runs depending on how intense of a run it is, which can be made in just a few mining trips given you're farming or buying the essences too.

(Also, the Dwarf sells them too, as well as the ||Desert Trader||, but I wouldn't consider either of those worth it compared to how easy to make they are )

I also recommend bringing some buff food to the caverns as well, especially those that give you speed and/or defense (helps you evade and tank enemies, as well as get around faster). The food I like the most for this is Crab Cakes, because they give you +1 SPD and +1 DEF that lasts effectively the whole day (~17 min), and they're quite easy to get once you actually get into the caverns. They're dropped often by the crabs in there which are pretty common (especially once Iridium begins spawning) so usually you can find as many as you eat :3

(An enemy in there also drops Spicy Eel, which gives you speed too, but also luck, which is helpful if you want better runs -- combined with the Lucky Ring and a Great Luck day means you'll get quite a lot of stuff, hopefully )
