If you get mushroom stumps you can place them on tree seeds before they grow into the next stage which will halt the tree growth but provide the benefit of a full grown tree regardless of the stage so you can bunch them up in a small area

You can click on the coop door (next to the human door) to open or close it. If you open it, the chickens will come outside and eat the grass

If you have them fenced in and the grass is outside of the fence area, you should be able to open the gate you walk through, and they should head for the grass? I haven’t encountered this in my game (yet), so I’m not 100% certain but that’s my hopefully correct understanding (and if not, hopefully someone else who is more knowledgeable will correct me!)
