I personally like mushrooms because I can make the amount of money required easily early game, and mushrooms are a stable source of energy. They are also good for some community center items, and the dehydrator is a game changer, especially when you can't afford to shell out 10000g so early on, but you have a lotta crops to process

Also, late game, you can decorate the cave without losing any items, which I loveeeee cause it just becomes a cosy lil cave with shrooms ❤️ 🍄🌱
