I think it is intended for no moss to grow in your first spring, as it can get pretty overwhelming pretty quickly. Moss is introduced in mid summer and then you'll get some here and there afterward. Don't worry about it and just keep going until summer

it's been 1 year on meadowlands farm and I love it, but I gotta say it really isn't suited for growing things hahaha. It's a bit annoying tbh that the growable area is so fragmented, but it's a good excuse to not grow too many things and build a ton of barns instead
