Depends how early 'early' is to you. But you can get it fairly quick if you talk to her a lot, and give her 2 gifts a week. She likes Daffodil and Horseradish, so giving her gold quality of either of those is decent early game.

1 heart is 250 points. Talking once a day is 20points, a liked gift is 45 points.

yep, picking up forage helps but the only way to make progress quickly is to chop trees

Picking stuff from the ground that counts as foraging yields 7 foraging XP. Cutting down trees give a total of 16 XP - 14 for cutting down the actual tree, and 2 for removing the stump that it leaves behind.

There doesn't seem to have XP amount variation depending on the species of fruit or berry you pick off from the ground, same goes to cutting different types of trees. Although, I believe a certain tree or two has a different amount when yielding XP and/or materials. I believe it was the mushroom tree, or I'm tripping.

I second fruit bats. Plus, when you’re done with it, you can fully design the cave however you like, adding floor pathways to prevent fruits from further spawning.

And besides, with the 1.5 version update, there’s another cave that’ll yield mushrooms anyway.

And those actually give XP. Although, I think 1.6, the farm’s mushroom cave was given XP foraging, or idk when…

How to not let animals eat up all of your grass:

Put down an item on top of grass in order to allow grass to always spread and not have animals eat every tile of it.

To use this command, type !grass.
