basically it's just whether or not a season change will kill crops that are ripe and ready to harvest, but left unharvested over night

• spring: potatoes -> strawberries or rhubarb if you have the bus repaired

• summer: blueberries/melons (especially if you got kegs to process them) or starfruit if you have the bus repaired

• fall: cranberries or pumpkins (pumpkins are better with kegs)

• winter: just winter seeds and powdermelon

you can also plant a few crops that are not included in the list for gifting or quests

general rule for me is to keep 5 of each just in case i need it
