Before you sacrifice your pumpkins, you do know that the bundle only requires 3 of the 4 options offered. And that it's cheaper to go with parsnip/melon/corn than the more expensive pumpkins, right? Or did you miss parsnips that first spring (a lot of people do)?

It's an event new to 1.6. Trees will change, and sprout up instantly from mere seeds. Weeds will sprout up everywhere, and you can get a LOT of fiber and moss from harvesting the weeds.
My advice: (spoilered in case you don't want to know)|| Go into town and talk to everyone; the dialogs are supposed to be really wild and funny as everyone is literally freaking out. Then restart the day and spend it harvesting weeds for the fiber and chopping down the giant fern trees for LOTS of fiddlehead ferns. ||

Any tips on the mines? I think I have a good sword and my pickaxe is gold but I keep dieing especially in skull cavern. I bring bombs but as soon as I get swarmed I die. I'd reccomend doing some stone mining or trading for a whole bunch of them at the desert if thats easier, its good for quick escapes and getting to lower levels so you can fight serpents and the like and improve your chances

using stone to make them is very inefficient and a bad decision for the future
