Trees don't need water or anything but non fruit trees have a random chance of growing a stage every night, so with rng they can take a long time. Tree fertilizer forces them to grow one stage every night

Hi everyone!
I’m kinda looking for some guidance /help.. so it’s my first time playing stardew and I’m in summer at this point. Mid summer I’d say. And it feels like I’ve been playing for hours and hours ( which I have been) yet I seem to make no real progress. Especially with the community center. It seems to really overwhelm me having so much to do. I guess I’m used to Minecraft where the second I start I can get whatever I want yet I need LVL 40 to have iron ore spawn. How the heck do I level up quicker and actually make some progress?
Not just with the basic things but with relationships. I give 2 gifts a week to Harvey ( good ones not ones he hates) and talk to him everyday. Yet I’m still stuck at 2 hearts for him>:(. Is there something I’m doing wrong ? Or am I just impatient? If I’m just impatient, what can I do to fill up my time besides aimlessly trying to level up? Feel free to DM me with a response or reply here.

stuff takes time you don't have to feel rushed or to rush things. there's no time limit

and friendships take a while to build if you aren't using the best gifts in this game

If it helps there is a community center guide in the pins. Also note you can always check the rooms/bundles from the inventory menu with the little icon to the top right -- it will also pulse if you've selected an item you need for a bundle

Honestly it’s the repetitive nature that bugs me after playing awhile. Mining, fishing, farming, and it all feels super slow which isn’t inherently a bad thing but I guess I’m eager to really jump into the game and needing lvl 40 to get iron ore really surprised me

There is no time limit, and most new players finish CC in year 3 or 4 unless using guides. So you are probably on track. It does help to balance out what you work on, like leveling up farming and growing a lot of crops is great but building sprinklers helps with that which requires you to spend time in the mines. Etc

I would say for me i didnt start making Massive progress in the community center until fall or winter, but if you need help for spisific fish or other things or bundles for cc you can look at the stardew wiki

The repetition is kind of where you learn things. The seasons will repeat after winter and things should click a bit better then too. Also consider the CC a tutorial, there is still a lot of content after.

For relationships, yeah gifting is great amd I actually had a lot of fun learning likes/dislikes without the wiki, but if you are juat gifting liked and not loved items it will take a while. Pay attention to the calendar outside of pierres, birthdays give a huge boost, as do loved items of higher quality

first of all, slow progress is still a progress! i understand the feeling of being overwhelmed and frustrated because you feel like you're doing so much, but gaining so little exp. it does get easier as you progress more!

there are ways to level fast, but i suggest just focusing on one or two skills you want to max out first (preferably something you like doing daily—mine was fishing and mining)

with leveling up relationships, you get double the heart points when you give them gifts during their birthday, so keep that in mind! also, the quality of the gift matters too.

you're not doing anything wrong, just breathe and try not to do everything all at once or else you'll burn yourself out too fast.

Some crops like the blue berries, you plant once and it can be harvested more than once .. the plant will die end of season .. you always need to water plants daily

If you donate your Ancient seed to museum .. you will get another Ancient seed you can plant ... takes 28 days to grow
