ok. ill give some obvious tips

• don't cut all the tall grass on yo farm, you'll later build a silo so you can cut it and it'll become hay. this is way better than buying hay on marnie's store, which you'll also buy your animals there. don't mistake it by buying the animal buildings (like coop or barn) because you get thme on robin
• at day 5 of spring or other days if day 5 is raining, you'll get access both to the mines and the community center, an abandoned building.

you can get good stuff on the mines and some ores that you'll need for bars to upgrade your tools and i recommend going on your pace. no need to speedrun the mines

at day 5, you'll only be at the community center to check a painting(i guess) that's all written in some gibberish. later on, you'll go to a place to get an ability so you can know what that painting text was about, and the mission of restoring the center will start. i think you know that by now. and so you can go through a checklist (thats on the pinned messages of the server) and see everything you need on specific seasons or anytime to complete it

and i also recommend planning some days or weeks for specific skills. like i did for 3 days to fish what i needed, 5 days to mine my way through level 40, etc

my first few days, i’d suggest stocking up on crops from pierre’s. cauliflower, potato, and green beans will help you the most since you’ll need them if you want to fix the community center! you start with parsnips, but keep a few for the community center!

i would suggest stocking up on strawberry seeds the minute you can as well— they’re the most profitable spring seed iirc! i’m fairly certain that you can only get them at the egg festival, so don’t save up some money for that :]

while you’re wandering the town, i would suggest bringing your hoe. you can dig up artifacts and such around the valley this way! plus your inventory space is limited early game :D
i rely on foraging for most of my food on early days as well<3

my first build is always a silo, if that’s helpful! i find it easier to care for animals that way (since i don’t have to buy hay from marnie)

i don't really know if theres farms better than the other, because you'll pick the farm you want dependin the skill you want to upgrade first but i'll try to give my opinion

standard -- best for decorating your farm, best for farming & there's not much into it. it's just a basic farm and that's why some people pick it cause i'll upgrade my skills later on anyway so theres no need for a farm that's specific on a skill when you'll go through the mines, go fishing, etc
river -- best for fishing, but i find this farm pretty whack due to much limited space and a GREAT focus on fishing, in which you probably won't even get good ones.
forest -- best for foraging, the grass limits you from farming crops so its not like the standard one with the yellow land, however there's hard wood stumps everyday, and some mushrooms & foreageables. it's the best one for me since i can pick the fruit cave and still get the mushrooms later on. if you wanna complete the community center quicker, i recommend getting this one since it has forageables you'll need for a bundle
animal one i forgot the name -- it feels like a mix of forest & river. i recommend getting either forest or standard, but this one is pretty cool and it has some space for creativity

i never picked any farm other than those. so i wont be talkin to it, but i think the other farms are meh compared to forest & standard. if you pick standard, okay, i'm also playin on that farm at my current save

Yeah - If you focus deep on EXP, you can easily get way over your head in terms of unlocks versus resources

Mushroom, you have to get them every two days, else they won't produce

The one big one I'll suggest, just because it leads to a super unfun game loop - Don't over expand your crops or farm beyond your ability to be able to do daily maintenance (Watering, etc) and still have energy to do other stuff.

Pushing yourself to needing 75%+ of your energy just to water means you'll spend a lot of time eating random stuff just to maintain a usable amount for projects
