Id suggest picking forester for now, wood is a very essential resource and you will get much more use out of forester in comparison to gatherer. People tend to switch professions once they reach lvl 10 because Gatherer-> Botanist is by far the best tree in forgaging

Crossplay is not currently possible with Stardew Valley, and it is unknown if it ever will be. According to ConcernedApe there are technical barriers that make it unfeasible. He would like to add it and may start looking into how to do it but currently it is not implemented.

the first time i played stardew, i was confused, stopped after 40 minutes, the next few days were similar, after the first few days, I was hooked and played 7 hours straight lol
