That's day 2. I suggest you fish up at the mountain lake. Fastest way there from your farm is go north and follow the path. Go past the house and tent you see. You'll see a bridge that connects to an island. Cross that bridge and the second. Aim your pole downwards and fish.

Those are some of the easiest fish and are worth quite a bit of money.

I suggest there not just for the money. But because low level fishing is difficult. If you still have difficulty than purchase the training rod from Willie's shop.

If you aren't I would wait till you can buy the iridium rod and not even buying the fiberglass rod.

Day 5 you unlock the mines. I would suggest trying to get 45 copper ore and 5 coal. So you can smelt five copper bars to upgrade your pickaxe. 20 copper is needed to craft the furnace. But don't worry if you don't hit that goal. There is no time limit in the game besides the time limit of what crops are available to grow and what you can gather across the map is tied to the season.
