gold is on the bottom floors of the mines so like floor 81+ and you can reset floors ending in 5 with the elevator to find more. iron is the icy floors so floor 41+

The best advice I can give is keep practicing until it’s easier, sometimes I just be fishing with the bamboo rod on a new save to make sure I don’t lose my skills
