Bombs mainly are being used to clear floors to look for ladders and drop shafts as well as large groups of ore quickly get mined faster than using your pickaxe. Having stats like Magnetism from rings can help you quickly grab all the material from further ranges, making it quicker to loot. The main goal of SC when going for iridium is around avoiding combat where possible and getting down as far as possible to find more iridium nodes in higher density. ||

They do|| , but the time it takes to kill them is rather inefficient for the iridium amount. If 1 slime takes you like 10+ weapon hits to fully clear with mini slimes, you end up losing out on a lot of time for maybe 4-6 ore when an iridium node takes a few pick axe hits or a singular bomb/slingshot explosive hit to clear to get 2-4ish. You'll be able to destroy multiple nodes with a bomb too as they get more dense as you move down the caverns and pick up all the side drops that spawn from the other rocks hit. ||
