@cloud gyro there is a TON to learn in this game and it's normal not to get it all right away.

If you read guides/watch videos it's going to feel like you're going slow, but those are geared toward experienced players. Totally normal for your first farm to be kinds fucked up early on

Personally I think it's better to just play the game slowly and get the hang of it at first rather than do research and try to max everything out

Whats the best method of preventing crops from being overtaken by weeds? Fences or walkways?

If you just clear the weeds, they shouldn't really be a problem

Ive had weeds grow to the edge of my crops but not overgrow them

I prefer walkways if you're putting them down directly next to the crop, that way you can walk right over it and it won't get in the way of watering. But they both work!
