It's definitely a fairly painful transition before you get a new weapon. You could get lucky and get the Mallet from crates.

Once you reach 70, you can farm Skeletons for a bone sword as well.

To get to the skull caverns, You have to complete all four bundles in the Vault room of the CC. after completing, the next day, the bus is repaired, and you can visit the calico desert. There are two new shops and the Skull Caverns there.

If you reach the skull caverns, I would recommend having a good sword like the obsidian edge or the Lava Katana. And a lot of good food like salads or sashimi

You can use a fence to keep them in a certain area so you can easily pet them without running around the entire farm

Iridium sprinklers are very expensive and not that much more efficient than quality. Quality sprinklers are awesome and rather cheap for how good they are

First you till soil with the hoe then plant the seed. If it's watered every day it will be ready to harvest in the time the seed packet says. If you miss a day of watering it doesn't die, just gets delayed.
