I wanna play the split screen with her and I don’t know if it means we work on the same farm.

Another thing is that I saw that there are so many mods available. Would they still work perfectly fine if i play in split screen mode? (As a beginner, should i use mods for some new content and quality of life?)

For a first playthrough, I recommend going in without mods. Yes there are awesome mods out there, but I think it's better to experience the game as it is first, and then from your experience add the mods that you think will make your experience better. As for the split screen, it's on the same farm

The modding community for this game is really large and active because of the resources they have access to, as well as the fact that a lot of people have been playing for 6+ years and want to experience something fresh and new whilst still being in the same universe - which is where expansions such as Expanded come in. Definitely a big thing for a new player, but very fun for a second run when/if you do one!

NPC map locations/lookup anything are very handy if you've experienced everything already and want to save some time looking at the wiki, but would severely take away the joy and wonder that you'd experience going in blind and discovering everything for the first time. A lot of people really wish they could have a fresh experience again
