Mushrooms are better rn than what they will be in 1.6 though, since they "got bugged" in 1.4 or 1.5 to be every day instead of every 2 days, where Bats just gives fruits ocationally.
I like picking bats if no mods since you can just go there from time to time, since mushrooms need you to go there every day for max value which I like to get from my stuff

You need more xp to advance a level the higher you get. The amount of xp needed from 9 to 10 is more than is needed for 1 to 7. Sadly, without mods there is no way of knowing how much xp to you need to level up.

Crits don't work that way. the 50% bonus is multiplicative, not additive. So that 50% bonus changes your 2% chance of a critical hit with most weapons into a whopping 3%.
Scout is only good to respec to when you have the right weapon and build in late game.
