I only use the steam controller for Journey of the Prairie King nowadays though.

I usually dont sell many things from the mines. Monster drops are used in a lot of crafting recipes, and for the gems a lot of them have use, and some serve as great loved gifts for a few villagers

You have to upgrade the barn/coop to be able to get different animals

I like to start with basic like a cow and a chicken and then upgrade from there

Besides the fish for the community center the only use they really have is for a few cooking recipes that you'll need to get the achievement for every recipe cooked, but you can worry about that later

Early game I'd sell the fish for extra cash and worry about cooking later on

For the level you are in the mines the copper pickaxe will do you just fine, I usually upgrade to iron after I get to level 40 and collet 25 iron ore for the 5 bars
