Hill-top if you love mining and having a quarry right on your farm, standard if you want farming space, forest if you want free/extra hardwood and forage (but have UNDER HALF the farming tillable space as the standard farm!!!). Those are the 3 "favorite farm" competitors, but the other ones have their uses too

I never played with it, it’s my first plagthrough and when I chose I didn’t even know there was a difference besides aesthetic

I played my first farm through fall, year 1, then started over (maybe $30k earnings and 6 bundles done at the time lol). Started over with just that tiny bit of experience with the game and I just finished year 1 with 300k earnings and 2 bundles to go. Switching from mountain farm to four corners definitely had a little bit to do with it too but imo it's more of a learning curve thing. Point is don't be afraid to hit that reset button
