What really screwed me is that I got a bunch of upgrades like beehives and apple trees and cherry trees and all those kinds of tree but I got them on winter season, so they will stay useless for a couple of seasons before providing value lmao

When it tells you that salmonberry season has started, scour the maps every day of the season and pick salmonberries from the pink-dotted bushes that grow on every map but the farm and beach. These salmonberries aren't worth selling, but they make a good early game food source because you can get so many of them. Your energy problems will be over.
