Hello and welcome! Going mining is definitely good. Fishing can also be done, but mining should be the best move her. I would also recommend to get some tappers on trees.

As a (past) mobile player myself, I would say it has its pros and cons. It’s the cheapest version of the game but it’s a smaller screen with fully touchscreen controls (unless you have a separate controller but idk how that works)

The average chance of a crit for MOST weapons is 2%. That 50% extra chance is multiplicative, not additional, so it raises that slim 2% chance to a whopping 3%. Terribly underwhelming still.
Go with the guaranteed damage at levels 5 and 10.
