You can divorce with them in the mayors house with one of the books and 50k gold.

You're then just unmarried the next day, the hearts are reset to 0 and the person will get the ex-state, which will cause negative texts towards you while interacting with them and they also won't accept gifts anymore.

You can erase the memories towards you with one of the statues in the witch's hut. The ex partner will then just act as if nothing happened between you two.

and also I think you can technically just marry one and the other resets to "single" with no consequences? But if you break up with them by giving them a wilted bouquet, I think they do lose some happiness, but eventually get over it.

Divorce, on the other hand, is a bit more serious and takes some work to fix.
