Okay after some digging, you’ll have to buy one. A training rod is only 25g, and it can be a great fishing rod to start with (up until level 5 or if you need a specific fish)

That’s a viable option, too. That early, a reset isn’t out of the question if you don’t want to purchase the training rod. I don’t think a reset is necessary, but it’s all in whatever you’re comfortable doing.

It depends on how you play. If you want to progress mines quicker, I’d recommend pickaxe. If you are working toward getting into the secret woods and chopping stumps and such, axe may be better for you.

pickaxe first is usually preferred - it gets you more copper faster, so your axe upgrade is faster. (in addition to other significant benefits, like faster mines runs.)
