I will use the Cherry Tree as an example:

• Costs 3400g on Pierre
• Takes 28 days to fully grow
• Only bears fruit during Spring, so you'll have 28 Cherry by the end of each spring
• The lowest price for a Cherry is 80g (Normal quality). Multiply that by 28 and you'll have 2240g for a full season.

So technically it takes 1 full year and half of the next Spring to break even and start making a profit.

That being said, you can turn the Cherry into more profitable products 🙂

you can also use a gold quality purple mushroom

both definitely have their merits, i personally prefer the fruit bat cave because it makes completing the community center a lot easier - though the mushroom cave has far more use later in the game because the mushrooms that you get from it can be crafted into life elixir

but if you want to plan for the future, i would recommend putting tappers on some oak trees as the oak resin they prouce is necessary for crafting kegs

the recipe for kegs is unlocked at farming level 8

they work really great with high-yield crops like starfruit and ancient fruit, because kegs multiply the sell value of fruits by 3x, and they also work great in tandem with casks to age them into iridum quality wine for extra profit
