This is how it used to work:

At night, the shipping box calculates sales based on the most profitable profession of all online players.

When you sell directly to a merchant (Pierre, Willy, etc.), the sale price is calculated based on only your professions.

I believe it was changed as of 1.4, but not certain of the details. Either that, or it was changed to this as of 1.4, and it used to calculate base on host's professions.

It's actually better to put pumpkins in jars, not kegs. Never make juice.
Juice takes 4 days to make, pickles take 3 days. Pumpkin juice base price is 720, while pickles go for 690. Sounds better to make juice, right?
But every 12 days you make juice, you are getting 3 batches for a total of 2160, while in the same 12 days you can make four batches of pickles for 2760.
Add to this fact that all veggies except pumpkins and red cabbage are actually worth less as juice than pickles, and this is why I say you should never make juice.
