and for the cost, especially early game

upfront cost of coop + 4 chickens is less than the cost of a barn alone - after buying the barn, you then have to buy 4 cows and a milk pail

so chickens come in earlier and snowball harder early game

Stumps on the Secret Woods are worth 25 points, which is good. Chopping down regular trees is also good.
Keep in mind that forageables accumulate throughout the week and reach a peak on Saturdays before resetting on Sundays. So if you only go out hunting for forageables on Saturdays, it will save you a lot of time and effort.
