@vivid dune there's no best. The only farm I don't suggest you use is wilderness. Beach is slightly challenging but I disagree with the zeitgeist that new players shouldn't use it. You'll do fine on any of them, they just prioritize different activities/approaches

-four corner is for those who like tidy arrangement but its jack of all trade master of none.
-beach has biggest farm size but its hard for new player to grow things there so only recommended for veteran, rancher player should choose this map.
-river farm has too few space, fishing is obsolete late game so u might not want to use this map unless its for aesthetic reason. but u can put many crabpots in this farm.
-forest has hardwood and forageable, but mahogany farm is a thing so forageable is most apparent.
-hill top has mining node spawn but overall this function is not useful enough.
-wilderness has mobs which considerably annoying.
