Im having an issue with my house as well not that it matters cause I gotta wait till dwarvish is fixed but my house has a basment staircase that leads to the void
- does it have an alternative with HDportraits
- use hdportraits
- don't use tmxl either - use contentcode/extramaplayers/contentpatcher
You should be able to remove the house mod and keep playing on the same save. You may need to install noclip to retrieve items.
I have contentpatcher. can I delete tmxl then? also when you mean alternative, use a different mod from DCBurger's?
lmao i had space core pytk and tmxl downloaded and it slowed everything down to a snails pace on startup

Does anyone know how to make the PNG to an XNB for the character portraits I cant get a mod to work and I tried literally everything
Got a question guys, for the modding veterans out there. I installed a bunch of mods, like 20+, and when I launch the game, smapi doesn't display any errors, I got into the main menu, created a char, and after I press ok, I'm stuck in a black screen with nothing loading. Anyone got any idea why this could be happening?
you don't make XNB mods you make content patcher mods to do that and it's a "making mods" question.

Do you have another portrait mod installed?
Cause I had rasmodia and cuter characters installed and it prioritised the cuter characters and gave me rasmodias and not rasmodia
once i removed cuter character it made the wizard the witch
I deleted every other portrait mod and even searched my entire stardew folder for anything named wizard.png and magnus.png. Everything has been replaced 😦 It is defaulting to the default portrait. I followed the form stuff off nexus and idk what else to do

the first example is how to swap portraits for your own images but as I said this is more about making mods and the disuccion for that is in another room, even if it is for just private use as I assume these are someone elses assets and you're just wanting it for yourself.

I think it was interfering with romanceable rasmodias as well
You have to use Portraiture to use portrait images with a higher resolution.

migrated over to a new computer and I'm having issues with chonkins; specifically the objects reskins. It successfully patches in the mayo, and milk, but the void egg and void mayo aren't being patched in, and I checked to see if I have any conflicting mod configs and I dont think I do. dynamic reflections looks like it's causing problems. I'd suggest removing it for now. I'll take a look at this log and see if i can't work out a fix

also, in your log, at the top, there's a list of mods that need to be updated. go ahead and update them. to update, just delete the old version and download the new one, then just install it like normal
clicking the numbers next to the name of the mods in the "update these mods" list will take you right to the nexus page

It is still not working. I also backed up my save file like 2 days ago. Should I just do that and see if it helps? If its a mod though it might redo whatever happened again.
Download the new smapi and just install again from there, no need to uninstall your old version

If you don't want your map to look pinkish like that, then yes
you've got a lot of mods not loading for various reasons. Empty folders, missing the manifest.json, things not being proper smapi mods

It's recommended to not use Vortex as it can cause issues. Best to install manually or use a mod manager like StarDrop

you can right click on the stardew valley in your steam library, then look at manage>browse local files

You should install smapi first

(the video you're referring to is likely outdated)
(for example, stardew now bundles all of dotnet 5 and a bunch of other things)
(this is why there's so many extra files.)

I fixed it! I was trying to disable the extended chests functionality, so I was resetting the sliders to Default. However, it seems like the Default setting is bugged, so I changed it to Disabled, and it fixed the glitch!
(amber hasn't, that's why it's reporting "compressed size" and not "size")

hello! i recently downloaded stardew valley through steam and installed like 28 mods for it lol but im about to switch from a pc to a mac and was wondering how id be able to move my saved game from the pc to mac with all its mods. i uploaded my local stardew valley folder into my gdrive--do i just have to download that on my mac (as well as downloading steam ofc) or do i just download the mod folder since steam saves my game via cloud anyway?
(for reference, i use smapi for most my mods and my biggest mod concern is stardew valley expanded)

Hello! I'm running my game with several mods. Right now I'm having an issue where after I unlocked Ginger Island Leo is now showing up in town before any heart events and he's showing up in my farmhouse and in one of my children's beds every morning. hey! i have different mod folders for different saves i play on. some of the mod folders have json assets mods while some don’t. if i switch between the folders will i end up with json shuffle? i never mix and match mod folders if that makes a difference

most mods that require pytk either have replacements or newer versions that don't require it, so it's worth checking for those. you can also ask here about a specific mod

hello, havent used mods before at all. if i install mods that add new content (like SDV expanded) and then use them in a a save file, am i able to play that save file without the mods at a later date if i choose?

The main problem Im actually having is with the map, though I'm not entirely sure where that problems lays. I've reinstalled np map locations a few times, together with a full new clean install of all mods and smapi

I know the original Mod Author of Artisan Valley has retired but I believe that someone else is curating it. According to the wiki I should be able to craft a still once I reach level 10 farming, but I just reached level 10 and am unable to craft one. I had to use the CJB item spawner mod to get one.

Look in the mod folder for Prismatic Tools. Is there config.json file or something?
There might be an option to disable the sprinklers there, but from what I see in the code, it might only change the range.

nono i wanna remove it literally cuz i found another sprinkler mod (Qi Sprinklers) which does the same thing but retain the buffs of the components. but someone used that mod reported that they occurred a problem they had both of those mods

I installed farmer to florist the other day and when I go into the game today, my log says no output can be found for the crafting machines associated with the mod. I deleted and reinstalled the mod. I have the two optional mods installed. Not sure what the issue is here. Does anyone know if this is a known issue or something I somehow did? The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).
fine. I have the Furry Replacer mod, as well as Stardew Expanded, and the patch for the Furry Replacer for SVE. For some reason, the SVE portraits were replaced, but not the vanilla portraits.

You can overwrite the original Aideen sprite with the one you got
I recommend keeping a copy of the sprite replacement you got as well because if east scarp updates, you'd have to replace it again

make sure that you have the same mods. Also replace FeTK and Tool Upgrade Delivery Services with Mail services mod(https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/7842) FeTK is outdated

heyyo super noob here, trying to grab smapi for a friend and i, worked fine for me but when she tries to open the bat file she gets this
nothing changed, nothing misnamed, did the same steps as i did with 7zip etc
is she trying to run it within the zip file itself?

I've seen mixed kind of like comments about custom furniture, and pytk never seems to work on my stuff, is there any other ways to add additional furniture packs to my game without having crashing issues?
So I can't buy any obelisks from the wizard's tower, its only giving me junimo hut -- no scroll arrows. I've finished Goblin Problem a while ago. ok i found one problem, all firewall antivirus turned off, but the StardewModdingAPI.exe is missing
she has mcafee turn off but something is still removing the files... really weird

Howdy, so I got a question from a friend. She's playing modded Stardew, and it just became winter. Now half of the sprites are missing. She can see the shadows of like... slime balls, but the slime ball sprite itself is gone.
uhm, some of my greenhouse crops and trees disappeared??? and by some i mean half my trees and 1/3 of my ancient fruit fixed it
would need to post your SMAPI log for someone to try to help but sounds like some mod isn't loading the sprites correctly.

manual install of SMAPI? Do you mean manually copying the files rather than running the installer? If something is blocking deleting the files I'm not sure if manually moving them would help.
i just had her move the files over to the game files, and she ran the program called SMAPI.install and it somehow just worked

Again, her issue has just appeared on the first day of winter. Previously it was fine and we played a week in-game before her sprites going missing happened.

Most Vanilla ones, such as slimes, stone, ores, ect. However, my tools are just fine. I can see those.

part of that is, in the other season's. It's fine. We don't really have a rescaling mod, except for the portraiture mod

Hello! I've got a question about ModDrop, there are two Mods that i have on there that have updated that i use ( A Toned Down Stardew Valley and Eemie's Map Recolor), but when I go to download instead of a .zip, I get a single blank file. Is this a bug on the site or am i doing something wrong?

apparently if you rename the file to have the .zip at the end it is still actually a normal zip file, it's just...not carrying the right extnesion

When smapi is running there are consistantly 2 missing files when I verify via steam. It corrects and as soon as I run smapi again the missing files happen again. I am new to modding.
so the 2 missing files shouldn't be the reason for the crash?

no. when I started researching crashes I thought that was strange. It is like I just shut the game down, it just happens without me doing it.

My game is launching, but also not? None of my mods are giving warnings. And everything seems to be loading it's just that the Game its self isn't showing up.
so of course now that I have asked for help my game was able to get thru an entire day without crashing. I honestly don't know. Is it possible that launching from the folder helped?
it is still running in the background right now. All the mods look good and no crashing yet.

yo i saw a mod thats supposed to fix multiplayer sell prices since apaprently only the host's perks affect sale prices. is this outdated? im assuming its a bug thats proabbly been fixed
I'm using the Farm Extended mod from the Nexus, and it's supposed to spawn giant stumps, forageables, and quarry stones every day in dedicated areas through use of the Farm Type Manager mod. Yet, it is doing none of these, even with the mod installed. The farm came pre-packaged with an outdated version of the mod, should I be using that instead or is it just broken?

Can anyone help me with an invisible bed problem? I'm trying to set up a SVE game with all the associated mods, and a few others. SMAPI shows no errors and all mods are up to date. I do have afterburner installed, but can't seem to find a way to add exceptions. SMAPI is 3.15.1, which should be up to date according to website. Tried troubleshooting by changing the name of the mods folder and loading with SMAPI without mods. Still invisible. So i then changed Steam config so it wouldnt load with SMAPI and loaded just the steam version of the game...STILL invisble. Any ideas?

that's always the first thing i tell people when they ask me for help.
it's a bit strange, might be an old content pack format for FTM, but in any case you can try to use this, dunno if it works (it's just taking one file from the farm extended FTM version and making it a proper content pack for FTM). just make sure to uninstall the farm extended FTM folder first if you have it and install Farm Type Manager from its own nexus page

Okay, well the stumps don't spawn but everything else works.
Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).
or maybe just try playing for another day

Hey atravita, I was wondering about your More Fertilizer mod. I used a Deluxe Fish Food one and it's been I think over a week in-game and my water is still the color it changes when it's active. I put it in on Summer 28th and it's now Fall 9th.
So I'm having a shuffle with... DGA? I'm on multiplayer, we just began, we have both JA stuff and DGA stuff. But everything looks differently to the both of us, despite the fact this is a new game and we haven't added or removed any mods. And even DGA stuff is shuffled between us?

So I am trying to properly configure the better mixed seeds mod and am struggling a bit regarding what certain values mean. Specifically the DropChance variable. By default all options are set to 1.0 but if I want something to have a .01% chance to be selected when placed do I need to set the value to 0.01 or 0.1 or something different altogether? Even more specifically, for the PercentDropChanceForMixedSeedsWhenNotFiber variable is that a value between 0-100 where 100 will always give mixed seeds and 0 will never? or am I reading this differently? The mod page doesn't give much help to me

i have two separate folders, smapi will load only the folder called mods when you boot it
so depending on which save i'm playing i change the name to "mods" for that folder
