it is, but you should be using free love instead of multiple spouses

yeah, definitely. you'll get 2 harvests, and lots of strawberries to put in a seed maker once you get one of those, so you'll be able to plant more next spring
I'm having an issue viewing a wedding. I am supposed to marry Lucikiel today in-game. The spouse room showed up yesterday. I checked calendar and the wedding was on the calendar for the next day (today). So I went to bed, the game crashed after saving. I got off the computer to go do stuff. I came back, opened game, no wedding scene.

I did a quick Google search as I know nothing about linux, but it says you may be experiencing an issue where the mod contents are being displayed rather than executed. I don’t really know what that means, but you may have more knowledge on this being a linux user. I hope this can help you.

I was playing till I got to day three, and was going towards the forest. Once I got to the forest, it went to a cutscene where I was walking up to a tree with an anime girl standing under it, and cut to black and it’s only on the loading screen

the checklist is choosing whether or not you'd want the default portraits(meaning how they look in the base game) or if you want the younger versions that they made of them. It's just not set up like a normal config

hi! i did this to re-acquire my xnb files, but now stardew isnt opening with any of my mods?
i still have all of my mods downloaded in the mod folder in stardew valley "local files" but it wont load any of them

I can't say anything about your bugged event but I can say that you need a lot of mods. Either that or remove what you have.
it might be that vibrant pastoral recolor is overriding industrial? You can try turning it off in vpr's config and trying again

It seems you have generic mod config menu, so you can access it from the title screen from the little cog on the bottom left or if you're in game, you can open your inventory > settings and scroll down to mod options
Why is it repeating the errors I have?
It's trying to warp you to a map that doesn't exist
Mostly because the txml component of that mod didn't load
I would recommend reading the red text in the smapi log and clearing that up first

Hey everyone!
So, I'm posting back here with a similar issue to last time. Basically what happens is, I >>used to<< play with around 80 mods in my game, various of them changed the actual game code. Everything was going fine for me until I got Leo to live on the Valley, and that's when I started really having trouble with my mods.
Leo simply refused to move out of the island and he kept his island schedule, never moving out of there.
I posted in here for help and someone said that it was a code issue, but I didn't really wanna mess with that because I was still using those mods at the time.
As of right now, though, I had some more serious problems with the mods causing the whole game to crash so I deleted them all and reinstalled only appearance changing mods (like for the U.I or for how the cabins look), but my Leo problem persists and I don't quite know what to do :(
Could anybody help me?

You could try replaying the event where he moves to the valley.
okay so i just downloaded SDVE and all the mods needed for it but im getting an error message from SMAPI that certain mods arent installed even though the mods its saying arent installed are installed and in the correct folder

so, i had smapi working and fine, but i was trying to update all my mods. it told me smapi needed to be updated. so i installed the newest version, but then it crashed my game right as i clicked the load button to load a save file. it happened that way every time. i tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, i tried installing the nexus version, i tried restarting my computer, but it still stops working whenever i press the load button

it took a lot of scrolling in notepad to find where the error repeating started so I could CP something that smapi log parser could handle.

um, i'm not really sure? i did what the thing asked me to do, i dunno if i did it wrong. to clarify smapi is able to run, it is slower than usual, it stops at a certain point for about 10 seconds and then runs
so it is able to run and open the game
but when i press load to open my save file, it crashes
i assume the problem here is SMAPI because i wasn't having this problem before i updated it. it could be a problem with the 5 other mods i updated, though

Hello so I'm just starting modding, and I just had some questions about it; is smapi safe? I’ve seen many people use it but I just got this pc and I don’t want any bad malawere or viruses to be installed with it, also is there any RECENT videos on how to install the mods? I don’t wanna install a mod but then have 3 missing downloads.😅 (also does it affect your game files? I herd some people have lost their game files from the system crashing)
smapi should give you no issues. but are you just installing smapi by itself? im guessing from the website?

Most mods need frameworks, so where you need one you'd need another.
nexus tells you what mods you need for the one you're downloading
Yes it affects your save file if you have particular mods Installed. For example, if you install one with custom items.
If you remove that mod without removing the custom items first, you're bound to have errors.
what path do you use to access stardew valley?
So as soon as you install the mod the file is already incorporated with the modding?

Whatever save file you open once you installed a mod, yes.
But something like Retextures or whatnot shouldn't have any real impact on your save file. They're good to remove and add anytime.
so, you'll need to do the smapi set up to get the path to smapi itself, or alternatively, load smapi from your files

Find the installation location for SDV. From Steam, you can right click on the game > Properties... > Local FIles > Browse...
Will bring up an file explorer window already at the SDV location.
In that folder, there should be a Mods folder. Unzip the mods, and put them in that folder.

However, I am not seeing a StardewModdingAPI.exe there. Are you sure you installed SMAPI?

hello! does anyone know of a command or a mod to delete a quest entry in the journal? i recently deleted SVE and fortunately have no errors, just this one lingering quest.
We have played for over 30 hrs and we never had a problem until I updated SMAPI and now its not working. They do not play with mods either.

Possibly weird question but i just realized i can't butcher any of my animals? I believe I have animal husbandry installed correctly, I got the letter and the cleaver, and the bundle in the community center as well as the channel and recipes, but theres no meat button and the cleaver doesnt do anything to adult animals. Is there a known conflict with it and having the Fresh Meat (alternate husbandry) mod that I didn't realize? I also have the cowboy life expanded but that says it works with animal husbandry/its an optional download for it.
Oh answered my own question with digging. Its interference from the cowboy life expanded mod, the developer was asking the husbandry mod creator about the same problem, there isnt an updated version yet to fix it
So I've tried everything literally everything that I can and it has failed and I'm desperate, so I got my friend Stardew Valley on steam a few days ago and he can load it normally, but when he tries to load Stardew with Smapi, it crashes, sometimes immediately, but sometimes it does load but then crashes after a few seconds in the title screen. he has the latest version, with the base 3 mods, and should have all the system requirements. Stardew is installed on his second drive on windows. We've reinstalled Smapi several times, checked if the mods were the problem, deleted the startup preferences, and tried to run compatibility test, but to no avail. Please if I could get some help on this it would be greatly appreciated.

I figured it out! Avast One was the problem, so check your antivirus, my friend had to get rid of Avast One and switch to the original Avast. If you have this problem aswell, I recommend to try the original Avast: https://www.avast.com/en-ca/free-antivirus-download#pc
If you couldn't find another solution, you can get this mod (the bushes grow back after 3 days, but the time it takes to regrow is configurable)

The Mods folder is a file folder within your SDV installation.
You install mods by plopping mod folders into that.
There isn't a "Mod Browser" tool or anything that runs inside the game

No, the mods will list in their manifest if they have dependencies, and SMAPI will load them in an appropriate order.

I have already tried removing SVE, loading the game up without it and adding it back in and loading the game again.
reinstalling SVE should fix it. FTM rewrites that file often and sometimes it fails (if it fails constantly the disk where the mods are might have some problems though, like being almost full)

Hi Arcane, I downloaded cjb cheats, and went into the part where there are quests and nothing is showing up for Durin's Rest which is the one I'm trying to restart. Because I had finished the quests up to the point you get to go in your farm house, and now, It's like I didn't do the quests but yet there aren't any available to redo or do. That's why i figured I'd try restarting. Are there folders I can go into that can delete the saves instead?

So, I had a problem earlier, and I fixed it. It was with PYTK. The newest version of it was breaking my game for some reason, so I installed the old version, and it's fine. However, I use the Elle's horse, barn animals, coop animals, and dog mods. These mods add 3 ingame items that usually have their own unique texture, I believe you buy them at Robin's. These items allow you to change the textures of animals. It was working fine, I went on a hiatus, and then I needed to update some mods. I did, and now the three items for this mod are null. They have the same names and descriptions but all three of them have the texture of milk pails and when I try to use them, it uses the pickaxe animation. This might not be a problem with PYTK, but I'm stumped. I updated 5 mods: PYTk (which I un-updated), Content Patcher, Json Assets, Spacecore, and Generic Mod Config Menu. Any ideas? PYTK still breaks my game. The milk pails are now the correct texture, but everytime I click on an animal, it says they have no alternative textures for this season. I'm going to try re-installing all the animal mods.
Yay, it’s working! I have no idea what mod needs PYTK and I’ve yet to see a problem without it so I’m gonna give up on that.

Huh. Why is Stardew Valley Expanded counteracting with the Grandpa's farm map when they're both from the sale dl page and creator? Am I missing a file? When I go down from grandpas farm to the secret woods entrance it spawns me in the trees

yeah I appreciate that it exists. I think the issue is that while all-encompassing stuff can be really convenient, when it comes to fleshing out NPCs I think it actually might be better for a person to just focus on 1 or 2 characters they really love, b/c it can be tough to work up enthusiasm or a good storyline for a bunch of characters who aren't really related to each other and who you might not even like all that much, y'know?

I think the issue is that it's an older mod too. Really, Looking for Love is still just Siv's old Marriage Mod, just made easier to manage. I think if time went into it now, you could fix all the issues. You know, like Sandy's shop disappearing. Especially since we have those solutions nowadays, what with the box that acts as the NPC

Will look, got rid of deep woods. Is there any sign of what could have the ppja stuff? all my fruits/veggies/products all from ppja are broken. Lemon trees are dropping Lemon peels, Dragonfruit trees are dropping Dragonfruit saplings? I deleted the PPJA stuff and redownloaded it and that didn't help

If so, that’s probably just a shuffle, if you delete the items and get it back it’ll revert to normal

I always close out before messing with mods if you mean that with mid save. It was working yesterday, only thing I've done today is delete Shadow Cove & expanded woods/deep woods.
If you install in an existing save file, JSON shuffles might occur so it’s why you’re receiving random things
Deleting the randomized items will revert it back to normal

They mean toss them in the in-game trash can. You can use an item spawner to re-obtain the items.

I remembered my jelly turned into pecan sapling jelly, all I did was toss them out and spawn the item back in
I had things go wackadoo on me once too. I may have deleted that save file though. Early into my modded play journey I downloaded too many mods at once that added things into the game and got overwhelmed so I deleted the save, deleted a bunch of mods, and restarted. But that was a tad extreme lol.
It tends to happen you download big phat mods especially PPJA, that’s why I start a new save file everytime

That's good to know. I was considering adding the PPJA one at a time starting in year 3 once I got through all the main stuff + ridgeside + east scarp, just for longevity's sake. But I was also considering deleting that save because I feel like I sped run it. Barely past the egg festival year 2 and I'm married, have completed the community center, fully upgraded house, and started on the house for Pam & Penny.
What mod does Zucchini Seeds come from, it seems like the ID for it has the same value with other mod

The ID just duplicates with another ID from a different mod that’s why you get red text, I assume
And as for the shuffle, you’ll get them if you install PPJA mods in an existing save file and load them in, it only happens once, throwing the item back out and spawn the item back in will fix the issue

I got a Pecan Sapling from my Pecan Tree, I threw the Pecan Sapling away and spawned a pecan in. The next day it produced another pecan sapling. The rest of my trees also continue to produce broken products, and my machines also continue to produce broken products despite me deleting and respawning them .

In your logs, it says that Better Chests is auto organizing items out of your Shipping Bin into chests that are a higher priority. If you disable the feature "AutoOrganize" for the shipping bin it should fix it.

Ignore the part where it says to update mods. I've been in and out of the game testing my own little baby mods (you can see one of them in my log the other I embedded in the mod it's an add-on to) that I'm making for my personal use as a creative exercise. But all that testing made me discover something. The item spawner is letting me spawn in honeys that shouldn't be possible. I have Ridgeside Village and East Scarp installed and I have honeys for all of the flowers RSV adds. The problem is, those flowers are all foraged and not grown as crops. The item spawner also has crocus and sweet pea honey, which are also foraged flowers. Is this the item spawner that's doing this? Or something else in all the random mods I've downloaded? First I should let you know I am on Linux (POP OS). My Stardew Vally is installed in Steam.
So I was able to download and install Vortex on Lutris, I also have SMAPI installed but when I try to choose Stardew Valley in Vortex so I can manage it (add mods) Vortex tells me I need SMAPI installed. I have Vortex pointed to my Steam folder and its detecting my installed games but for some reason it does not see that SMAPI is installed. Anyone know why this is?

have you tried playing a few game hours longer? looks like there are a lot of CP patching and FTM spawns happening, they might stop after a while
To add to this I found that if I install Stardew with Steam proton SMAPI won't work but if I install withOUT Steam proton SMAPI works, however I have to install it with Steam proton or Vortex won't detect the game.

Well, Stardrop does not seem to work with POP OS (Ubuntu), at least not for me, I run the .sh file and a window opens for like half a second and then closes
did you run it from a terminal? if not, maybe it gives some error message that way
looks like stardrop also keeps a log file in ~/.config/StarDrop/Data/Logs

looks like permission problems. you can probably fix it by executing cd ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Stardew\ Valley/Mods && chmod -R u+rw . in a terminal
can you open a terminal, navigate to the StarDrop folder and and execute ./Stardrop.sh in it?

hm, i thought the log had you playing until noon, but looks like it stops around 8 at morning? well, maybe the profiler would make it easier to read after all (also it's probably good to not open the menu or use mods like lookup anything to avoid it triggering patches, just for easier readibility), so i guess it's better to do it with it
I can't tell what the first error is but I can tell the second was a problem with SAAT so I deleted and reinstalled it but that didn't work
the SAAT error is caused by the first error probably, the game doesn't have an audio output it can use and it needs one

I am trying to use "lunakatt's DCBurger Style Portraits for SVE"
It says

- To work alongside DCBurger's portrait mod, place all of the PNG files in the same folder you put DCBurger's portraits into

And I have done this, I placed all the png files in the same folder as DCBurger's portraits.
But only the original DCBurger portraits work, as in the original characters.
But all the new characters from Expanded, doesn't work.
What can I do?
Do I have to place the "config, content, manifest" files into a folder too? If so, where? Cause if I want to place them in the DCBurger folder it just wants to override the dcburger files.

Would there be a way to delete objects from a specific tile? Atm I have these two objects that are like phantom objects. I can place flooring under and remove the flooring but I can't pick these up. I've tried pickaxe, axe, hoe, watering can, weapon, barehand and these two things just wont move. I do use mods but i'm unsure if this is a mod issue or just a vanilla issue. I've also tried googling the issue but "can't move item" usually returns bugs with console or mobile. I'm playing on PC. The flamingo and flower barrel are the objects that wont move. I can use the Look up anything mod on the lamp next to the pond and its information shows up. Using it on the flower barrel or the flamingo doesn't do anything which. It's like theres a phantom object there with just the image. Also just tried using a ingame map editor mod, tried copying some grass and writing over the area but the objects remain while the tileset did change.
Are you using a modded map?
I hate to incidentally plug my own mod, but if they're not baked into the map, there's a chance that Smart Building might be able to pick them up?

So it should be fairly self explanatory if you look at the default controls. Left shift +B to open the UI, then you would click on the eraser tool, then select either the object layer, or the furniture layer, and try picking them up by clicking.
@ArcaneDescent @JessYoMama You can do it without a mod. Go to %appdata%/StardewValley and open the file called startup_preferences. ctrl + f for "playerLimit" and you'll find something like this: <playerLimit>-1</playerLimit>.
Change the -1 to any number you like...

Awesome ty. Hopefully this works, if it doesn't then maybe it has something to do with the patio tiles. As far as I've been playing I haven't been allowed to put anything on these patio tiles so i'm not even sure how those two objects got there. And as to what you said earlier maybe they are hard baked into the map somehow.
Keep us updated! If it doesn't, and it isn't baked into the map, I have a couple things I could tweak in Smart Building with a special build to just nuke anything that isn't part of the map on whichever tile you click on.

@solemn shoal I've confirmed the two objects are a marriage partners objects. This is only my second time playing this and I never knew what a patio was let alone that there were hard coded objects that get placed when you marry someone. I downloaded this custom patios wizard mod, when I moved the patio the objects moved as well. Would anything in smart buildings be able to nuke spouse patios/objects?

Question. I have the cjb item spawner installed and when I search honey, it populates honeys that shouldn’t exist because the base flower is a foraged one. Would this be caused by the spawner or by the mod from which the flower comes? I’m guessing the spawner because it has crocus and sweet pea honey. Did you remove PYTK?
No, removing TMXL itself or TMX dependency files in other mods causes the Save Game not to load. I will reinstall PYTK to see if anything changes
If Ohodavi's portraits use PYTK, then maybe that could be the cause?
No luck, removing Ohodavi's portraits did get rid of the one error line but the rest still exist
Hi, um, question: my DC Burger portraits haven't been showing properly since, uh, I think the SMAPI update a few weeks ago, is there a fix for that by now? (I tried to search the channel but couldn't find anything, though I remember someone else reporting the same issue. I finaly got Stardrop to install but I want to start Stardrop via Stardew Valley in steam, the instructions say to add this
"FULL_PATH_TO_Stardrop.exe" %command%
but nothing happens, I did replace that line with this

I also tried to make the file path to my Steam Stardew vally folder but when I click play nothing happens

On Linux you dont need to do any of that

I am new to modding and playing modded Stardew so forgive me if my question is a bit noobish. Is there any indication what a given mod modifies to avoid installing two mods that potentially overwrite the same thing and thus causing some errors / conflicts.
I am generally used to modding both as a user and a modder, just not on the Stardew Valley end of things.
I am asking because I am trying to put together a set of mods for a farm I plan to play long term (at least several month if not into years)
The descriptions of the mods on nexus are a start. Check the images on the mod. worst case scenario, you download the mod and look at the JSON files.
but on Steam you can add 3rd party programs/games via "add a game" at the bottom. You can point to Stardrop.sh on that

The set of mods I am interested in using is basically the big ones which would be Stardew Valley extended (and its dependencies), Ridgeside Village and if possible both East Scarp and Downtown Zuzu. Aside from that its mostly small quality of life mods.

Ridgeside is generally designed to do minimal changes to the main areas of the game so it's out of the way of interfering with anything else.

there's someone on youtube doing an sve + ridgeside playthrough, works fine. You might have to live with long loading times when you load a save (and might need a computer with decent performance.)

I have a ryzen 5 3600, a rtx 3060 (ti was nowhere near in stock when I had to replace mine sadly), 16 gigs of ddr4 ram and a decently fast ssd
Given it can deal with heavily modded (600+ mods) minecraft I am quite sure it can deal with stardew valley mods as well.

Well, I have an old gaming computer from a computer-savvy friend of mine that must be... at least six years old by now, I replaced the graphics card three or four years ago (some kinda mid-range nvidia of the time?) and... apart from taking about five minutes or so on loading, it works, : )

SVE, definitely. I don't play without it anymore, : ) They add new content periodically, too! So there's always more to discover when I come back to the game.
cus when i saw that many npcs i was like....theres no way one can make that many npcs have equal depth...without like YEARS of work and input

im just jaded by the More is less approach to game design

Definitely enjoy RSV. ES is very empty unless you download all the associated mods listed in the description.
I enjoy ES too but RSV definitely has more to it.

i dont dabble in cheat mods cus ive have before and once i start i lose all will to actually play the game
its a weird mindset where if i can do one thing i could do anything
